MSC World America

Please stop moving MSC World America into draftspace over and over again. If the redirect to World-class cruise ship is replaced with an unsourced article again, just restore the redirect, no need to create duplicate drafts. --Ahecht (TALK

Broken redirects

Hello, QEnigma,

Before you move an article, please check "What links here" and if there are redirects to the article, then leave a redirect when you move that article. There were 9 redirects to Mahakali River (Sharda River) and when you neglected to leave a redirect, they turned into broken redirects which then have to be found and deleted by an administrator. Alternatively, after you check "What links here", you can correct all of these redirects to point to the new page location, it's up to you. But please don't automatically forget to leave a redirect just because it's not obligatory for page movers because it can create more work for others if there are existing redirects to the original article location.

And this is doubly true for articles that have been moved because of page move vandalism. The redirects are automatically changed when vandalism happens and if you don't leave a redirect when you correct the vandalism, then these redirects aren't corrected, they just break. Please consider these suggestions when you move articles in the future. It just takes a few seconds to check. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 19:46, 12 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Liz, Thank you for the information. Your comments have been noted. If I am not mistaken, you are suggesting that a round-robin page move is preferred to a move without leaving a redirect, even in cases such as the one involving the article above. My understanding was that, in this instance, the Sharda River article, which was unnecessarily moved to Mahakali River (Sharda River), was returned to its original title and that no links would be broken. It appears that this is not the case. Regards. QEnigma 03:26, 13 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
