I generally try to avoid quickfailing articles, and this one is no exception. However, it is quite a long way from being ready, unfortunately. There are significant grammatical errors and sourcing issues.

• A hatnote about Ethiopian naming conventions would be very helpful. See Hayle Ibrahimov and Habte Giyorgis Dinagde.

This sentence is extremely long and has some grammatical errors. I also could not verify the claim about his reception of a grant from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (which I think should be wikilinked). Is it verified in ref 9 (I cannot access it)?

• in ref 9 (and 10) it is mentioned in the acknowledgments section: "This study was financially supported by a grant from the Swedish Agency for Research Cooperation with Developing Countries (SAREC) through the Science and Technology Commission of Ethiopia and the Research and Publication Office of Addis Ababa University." • Upon closer inspection, it looks like the slideshare.net source is just a scanned copy of the book (I'm not sure if the person who uploaded it had permission, but I don't think that's our problem), in which case the book is the actual source.
• I also see that ref 2 seems to be trying to cite the book itself, but it currently cites a website selling the book.

• Addis Ababa University is linked more than once, and the abbreviation AAU is defined on its second usage rather than its first. Additionally, since it's defined, the abbreviation template in the last section should be unnecessary.

Actually, we may still have a problem. I highly suspect a copyright violation on the part of whoever uploaded the book to slideshare.net, and WP:COPYVIOEL has this to say about such links: material that violates the copyrights of others per contributors' rights and obligations should not be linked, whether in an external-links section or in a citation. External links to websites that display copyrighted works are acceptable as long as the website is manifestly run, maintained or owned by the copyright owner; the owner has licensed the content in a way that allows the website to use it; or the website uses the work in a way compliant with fair use. Knowingly directing others to material that violates copyright might be considered contributory copyright infringement. If there is reason to believe that a website has a copy of a work in violation of its copyright, do not link to it. Linking to a page that illegally distributes someone else's work casts a bad light on Wikipedia and its editors. Could you cite the book without using the link at all? Finally, I think the link to the YouTube video should be removed from the external links section, as it could misleadingly suggest that the video was uploaded by a reputable source (it wasn't, as far as I can tell). — Anonymous 03:24, 25 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Removed the slideshare link as there is another source, Addis Ababa University Press which should be enough. One more thing I noticed: He also taught resident students and doctors clinical medicine, endoscopic and laparoscopic. The wording here is confusing and I don't see anything like it mentioned at the source.

Actually, the issue wasn't with the part you removed, but rather some missing words (endoscopic and laparoscopic are adjectives, meaning they need a noun to attach to, which in this case was "skills"). I think the article is ready to pass now. — Anonymous 23:51, 28 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
