The Spanish Wikipedia BFDI article was deleted and salted
Just saying this as an real-life example of "Does this essay apply to other Wikimedia Foundation projects" on the FAQ. See es:Wikipedia:Tablón de anuncios de los bibliotecarios/Portal/Archivo/Protección de artículos/2025/11#Battle for Dream Island for the salt request, es:Wikipedia:Tablón de anuncios de los bibliotecarios/Portal/Archivo/Solicitudes de restauración/2025/11#Restauración de Battle for Dream Island / Batalla por la Isla de Ensueño for the failed restore request, and es:Wikipedia:Café/Portal/Archivo/Ayuda/2025/11#Sobre los convenios de relevancia y Battle for Dream Island when I asked about the difference between the two policies (although I never got a good answer other than "GNG on English WP means nothing to us", anyone else know?) - Well, looking at the reply you got in the last link, it leads to (using gtranslate)[1] "The English Wikipedia was created just a few days ago, and what was published here [es-WP] consisted of incomprehensible machine translations, promotional language, some versions had only one source, and in others, the references were the official YouTube channel or Fandom."
- So if that's correct, whoever tried writing the Spanish version did a crappy job, probably without knowing the language, which is obviously needed for translation. If it helps, Spanish WP:N seems to be [2] if you want to compare. Perhaps people at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Spain can tell you something relevant, but in general, what happens on other language WP:s is off-topic on en-WP. Archiving messed up
We have both
- Wikipedia talk:Why was BFDI not on Wikipedia?/Archives/ 1
- Wikipedia talk:Why was BFDI not on Wikipedia?/Archive 1
And if you use the searchbox, it ignores pages like Wikipedia talk:Why is BFDI not on Wikipedia?/Archive 4. Anyone good at fixing such things, please do. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 13:33, 9 December 2025 (UTC)
Btw, afaict, Wikipedia talk:Why is BFDI not on Wikipedia?/Archive 5 is chronologically followed by Wikipedia talk:Why was BFDI not on Wikipedia?/Archives/ 1. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 13:59, 9 December 2025 (UTC)
- I have moved the old "Why is" archives to the current "Why was" title, moved Wikipedia talk:Why was BFDI not on Wikipedia?/Archives/ 1 to Wikipedia talk:Why was BFDI not on Wikipedia?/Archive 6, and fixed the archiving instructions.[3]. You can ping me if the next archiving goes wrong. PrimeHunter (talk) 22:22, 9 December 2025 (UTC)
New article, for the interested. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 14:48, 11 December 2025 (UTC)
- The notability assessment is covered by the ones for BFDI and SOTU, if interested. ~2025-41302-10 (talk) 21:04, 17 December 2025 (UTC)
To anyone here who tries to add non-notable parts of the show here
Keep in mind that even then, portions of WP:BFDI still apply here. I understand you may be glad that BFDI has a page on Wikipedia now, but portions need to still apply, so you don't need to add parts about the show (e.g. characters, references, etc.), because they are not notable or lack documentation from reliable sources. However, if reliable sources start covering these aspects of BFDI, then maybe we could potentially allow these portions to be mentioned on Wikipedia. I hope this message helps.
