Wikipedia:Equity lists/Ethnicity
Ethnicity
There are currently ~16,500 values to describe non-fictional ethnic groups. There are +80,000 with fictional ethnicities included. As with everything on Wikidata, the community works to standardize property usage and values. The values the community uses are not well defined since data comes from several different sources and ethnicity data is, in general, a complicated concept. Even with this in mind, many Wikidata items lack ethnicity statements that could have them. Additionally there are several Wikidata items that don't have Wikipedia articles in English or other languages. The following queries will reveal these gaps.
- Ethnic group (P172) - Property usage count ~111,000
- A list of values (which term(s) does Wikidata use to describe ethnicity) - this query results in ~16,500 values, many of which have very low counts. Note: values corresponding to fictional characters have been removed
- Report for ethnicity statements lacking a reference
- Link to property discussion - Tracking ethnicity is inherently problematic. Participating in discussions about its usage will improve its use on Wikidata
- Graph for ethnic groups on Wikidata - this graph shows how Wikidata has organized ethnic groups. The results are presented as a graph rather than a table (you can see the table version here)
- Query for Wikidata items with an ethnicity statement without an English Wikipedia article
- PSID - 24677598
The table below generates a list of people who have articles in non-English versions of Wikipedia who also have ethnicity statements.
This list is automatically generated from data in Wikidata and is periodically updated by Listeriabot.
Edits made within the list area will be removed on the next update!
