Dubious EB ref

I removed mentioning of "Sydnayaska Krueger" - absent in the ref cited. Could not confirm from independent sources. - Altenmann >t

Addition to "Boycott" section

To the "Boycott" section, the following ref can be added to show that a similar removal from the shelves of major supermarkets has happened in the United Kingdom: https://drinksretailingnews.co.uk/retailers-remove-russian-standard-vodka-from-shelves/ 155.190.13.13 (talk) 05:43, 31 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. — FenrisAureus (she/they) (talk) 14:59, 20 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

contemporary russia did not exist when vodka was introduced to them, it would be wiser to say it was introduced to the Grand Duchy of Moscow instead of russia, since the contemporary state only started to brand itself as such in 1721. Raakoo (talk) 22:44, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Just wrong format. I suggest posting this as a regular talk page post. (3OpenEyes's talk page. Say hi!) | (PS: Have a good day) 23:44, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Filtering vs. distilling

In the current version it is claimed that "a common property of the vodkas produced in the United States and Europe is the extensive use of filtration before any additional processing (...) However, this is not the case in the traditional vodka-producing nations, so many distillers from these countries prefer to use very accurate distillation but minimal filtering, thus preserving the unique flavors and characteristics of their products."

I happen to know some German Doppelkorn distilled from wheat that has been filtered 9 times, and yet it has the typical wheat korn flavour. Quite in contrast to Swedish Absolut vodka which is also distilled from wheat, but which isn't filtered at all. Yet it's very neutral in flavour. So the idea that filtering removes the flavour is wrong. Whereas rectifying the spirit to very high ABV through distillation does remove the flavours. Which is logical, because what's left then is just the flavour of alcohol. ~2025-35520-48 (talk) 22:31, 29 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Filtering can remove flavors, depending on the type and structure of the filtering. It just spent always. Sometimes filtering is don't to remove certain impurities while retaining certain characteristics. Plus, the comparison to dopplekorn isn't valid, as Korn is not vodka. oknazevad (talk) 01:19, 30 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
