Minnesota official highway maps

I updated {{cite MnDOT map}} to add the missing recent official maps with full links and archives, etc. Using the template will simplify things in articles since we can update the template as needed, say to insert the archive links in the future, and all articles using it will get the updates at once. Imzadi 1979  17:50, 19 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Of course I forgot to mention that {{cite MnDOT map/testcases}} lists every map it has in the template. Imzadi 1979  17:51, 19 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Good to know, thank you. NotDragonius (talk) 20:24, 19 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Metro (Minnesota), you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Orange Line, Gold Line and Metropolitan Council. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Bloomington Election Article

Thanks for all the work you've done on the 2025 Bloomington, Minnesota municipal election article! I'm hoping to work on making an article for some other previous elections (2023 at least) and if you'd be willing to help out with building those that would be awesome. Minnastronomer (talk) 19:23, 6 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! Did you have a draft or similar? I’d love to help out. NotDragonius (talk) 00:04, 7 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I've been working on Draft:2023 Bloomington, Minnesota Municipal Elections! It's very obviously under construction. Feel free to help out. Also, I'd love to know how you make those maps like you did for the election results on the 2025 page! Minnastronomer (talk) 04:44, 7 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I'll take a look at it later this weekend when I get the chance. Here's a source you could use for what term each candidate was elected for: https://www.bloomingtonmn.gov/sites/default/files/2023-07/filepack_0.pdf
As for the maps, my process thus far has varied, but I've downloaded the shape files from MN Geospatial Commons and used various online tools and converters to trim it down to a usable SVG. I think last time I used these websites: https://mygeodata.cloud/converter/shp-to-kmz and https://kmzmap.com/. There is a map with the 2023 precinct boundaries on Wikimedia Commons, so you can use a tool like https://boxy-svg.com/ or Inkscape to edit [1]. Then I use the colors on Wikipedia:WikiProject Elections and Referendums/USA legend colors. NotDragonius (talk) 05:05, 8 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
That Sounds like something I'll work on over the weekend too! Thanks for the sources and resources.
Right now the biggest thing I think the article needs cleaning up with is the references and endorsements. Quite a few ephemeral campaign websites are gone, along with whatever campaign information they contained. The much of actual text of the article after the intro paragraph(s) is mostly placeholders while all the infoboxes, charts, and stuff like that are filled out, sourced, and completed. You can for sure work on the text if you want to. Minnastronomer (talk) 05:12, 8 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
