Talk:Elderflower cordial

Elderflower "toxic alkaloid"

Spurious citation removed. Until a scientific peer-reviewed source can produce which alkaloids Elder contains and their effects on human health, this flies in the face of the fact that people have been making elderflower cordial from 'raw' elderflowers for centuries. selfsufficientish.com is not an authoritative source. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.202.115.32 (talk) 22:52, 13 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Merge proposal

I propose merging Elderflower pressé into Elderflower cordial. The former appears to be a special case of the latter and not notable in its own right.Kstern (talk) 21:07, 15 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Naming

Firstly, the name of the article. By whom and where is elderflower [drink] called cordial?

Second, it's definitely not a soft drink, except in that it doesn't contain alcohol

What's interesting is that the language bias is first towards australian vernacular in the name of the article, and then towards the american dialect in the first classifying sentence

Someone with more confidence should clean this mess up 90.230.171.239 (talk) 22:07, 21 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
