Update
I am presently working on transforming this article into a full-fledged translation of the corresponding article from the French Wikipedia. I have the translation in my sandbox, and the space where I happen to be working on it can be found here. I need some help to ensure that my translation will be acceptable when the time comes for me to move it to article space, because I fear that if I work on this translation alone, it will be many, many days before my work is finally complete. For your information - the process I am using for my translation is this: I cut and paste the original text into Google Translate's translation window, then cut and paste the result into the editing window. To reduce the risk of my work being dismissed as a machine translation, I make as many edits as possible to ensure correctness in spelling, grammar, and terminology usage, compliance with select Manual of Style guidelines, as well as "localizing" the French-wiki citation templates into the most pertinent English equivalents, and replacing literal translations of "French-dubbed" movie and TV show titles existing in the French article with the actual English originals.—Seth Allen (discussion/contributions), Monday, November 11, 2013, 04:27 U.T.C.
I want this article to be the best it can be!
After the major copyediting for style that has been made to this article, I have a question: What needs to be done to this article now in order for it to merit higher status on Wikipedia? I need to know, just in case someone decides to promote the article to GA or even FA status. --SethAllen623 (talk) 02:14, March 13, 2015 (UTC)
Title: ABC (American TV Network)
The current title does not meet WP:CRITERIA and should be changed. It is CNN, not Cable News Network.
BBC, British Broadcasting Corporation
HBO, Home Box Office
CBS, Columbia Broadcasting System
ESPN, Entertainment and Sports Programming Network
NBC, National Broadcasting Company ChickpeaAnxiety (talk) 11:24, 18 September 2025 (UTC)

- my suggestion is pretty precise ChickpeaAnxiety (talk) 12:54, 1 January 2026 (UTC)
Kimmel cancellation
The paragraph on the cancellation of Kimmel IMHO is of WP:undue length. Although I believe it should be mentioned, I believe a sentence would be sufficient. We have to consider the significance compared to the entire history of the station. I did add the citation needed tag, but it needs more work to be appropriate length. I'd rather other editors work on it for now. See also: Talk:History_of_the_American_Broadcasting_Company#Kimmel_cancellation--David Tornheim (talk) 15:58, 19 September 2025 (UTC)
This article is mentioned here re: cancellation of Kimmel's show:
--David Tornheim (talk) 18:14, 19 September 2025 (UTC)
- Kimmel was suspended for less than a week, and at the moment this is presented as half of a history dating back to 1927. This is like saying that the suspension of Gary Lineker [1] (also political) was half of the history of the BBC. Either the history section is expanded to more of the ebb and flo of a century of broadcast history, or this story should go. Unknown Temptation (talk) 13:10, 23 September 2025 (UTC)
