Happy New Year

Question from MiekMe (21:34, 18 November 2025)

Hi Gnoeee. You've been assigned to me as Wikipedia mentor.

Strange question. I suggested having an experimental Wikipedia edit sprint at a math conference. However, I am not a very experienced Wikipedian myself. I assume/hope that it is OK to coordinate and document the sprint's activities from a user space page as here: User:MiekMe/FAOTSA2025. It would be most useful to use the same platform as a sandbox for novice Wikipedians.

Any advice or suggestions for this experiment will be very welcome, maybe on the experiment's talk page User talk:MiekMe/FAOTSA2025.

Question from Streamandbio on Suwannee bass (23:04, 27 January 2026)

Note: Streamandbio's mentor Cassiopeia is away.

Hey there! I’m trying to add a citation to my edit. I broke the record for the longest Suwannee bass recorded and I’m trying to add a citation showing proof from the Georgia wildlife page. The catch is documented under the angler awards for 2025. Here is a link to the page. https://georgiawildlife.com/sites/default/files/wrd/pdf/angler-award/2025_AnglerAward_WebsiteInfo_012726.pdf My name is Justin Owen, the Suwannee Bass was 17” and documented as such on 10/18/2025. Thank you for the help! --Streamandbio (talk) 23:04, 27 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Question from BijayJ Contributor (01:40, 1 February 2026)

Hi, Can you please help me to submit my first draft on my personal biography? --BijayJ Contributor (talk) 01:40, 1 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Notsharediplol (00:33, 3 February 2026)

Hello, @Gnoeee! I was just mourning my recent IP ban on scratch (don't worry, I didn't do anything - it was kind of a misunderstanding but they already said I can't get it lifted) and realised I can still build internet cred by making wiki articles. So I was wondering, would an article along the lines of 'Sliding Block Puzzles, Their History, And Common Solving Strategies' be allowed and a good topic? Thanks! --Notsharediplol (talk) 00:33, 3 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Miali Pk (07:39, 8 February 2026)

Hi, How can I creat an article about a book, a free hositpal in my village, and a shrine. --Miali Pk (talk) 07:39, 8 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Miali Pk. Great to hear that you want to contribute. The short answer to your question is YES you can. But before creating new articles, please make sure that an article about the topic doesn't already exist under another name here. The most important step is to check whether the subject meets notability guidelines and has reliable sources. You can check this help page for more information regarding how to create a first article here. Let me know if you need any help.- ❙❚❚❙❙ GnOeee ❚❙❚❙❙ 10:24, 19 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Question from DismalAeon (13:09, 10 February 2026)

I am fairly new to editing, so i need some constructive input

I want to know how to go about updating (or removing) a reference that is 'legitimate' in that its published, but whose author has noted conflicts - in the footnotes of other articles - to the band (in this instance) that it is being used as a negative reference for. --DismalAeon (talk) 13:09, 10 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you

Than you for your kind and generous comment on my user talk page, Gnoeee. By working together, I hope we are helping to make the world a bit better through building an encyclopedia of knowledge. Sometimes a bit of encouragement goes a long way! Dcattell (talk) 21:44, 15 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Question from HyperlinkHavoc (08:26, 19 February 2026)

Hey, i was wondering how low chance it is for a perfect(My opinion) article draft to get accepted? --HyperlinkHavoc (talk) 08:26, 19 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Hey @HyperlinkHavoc. There isn't really a fixed chance for that. It mostly depends on how well it meets Wikipedia's core Purpose rather than how perfect it feels to us as writers. It depends on things like notability, reliable sources it have. I have noticied that you have submitted a article related to music artist. Remember that a decline doesn't mean failure. It's usually feedback to improve the draft. Check out the links mentioned over there on how to improve the article before you resubmit the article for review.- ❙❚❚❙❙ GnOeee ❚❙❚❙❙ 10:38, 19 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, i will remember that. Thank you for helping me and being my mentor🙃 HyperlinkHavoc (talk) 10:59, 19 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Lyricsnmelody on Pukka Orchestra (21:13, 19 February 2026)

I made edits and added citations, but when I press on "Publish changes", nothing happens. --Lyricsnmelody (talk) 21:13, 19 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, the same happened to me. I just tried again with a better internet connection, remember, even though the connection says its strong, its not always that ~2026-11504-65 (talk) 11:47, 20 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
