Badar Durrez Ahmed (born 16 March 1956 at Shillong) is the Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir state in India. He took office on 01 April 2017.
Early and personal life
Ahmed was born in 1956, the the son of Dr. Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed who was President of India (24 August 1974 – 11 February 1977)[1] by his wife, Abida Begum, of Haldoi.
He is married to Kaniz-i-Shaharbanu Nawabzadi Saba Begum Sahiba (2 February 1959-), the daughter of Noor Bano Begum and Major Nawab Sayyid Zulfikar Ali Khan Bahadur. The couple has one daughter and one son:[2] He is presently the Secretary of the Ghalib Institute.
