Texas Chainsaw

What are your goals for the expansion? MagicatthemovieS (talk) 16:49, 29 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@MagicatthemovieS Featured Status. That and having a more complete rendition of the film, it's aspects and the series as a whole. It is sadly one of those horror series that is underdeveloped on Wikipiedia in comparison to Halloween, Friday the 13th, and other horror franchises. As an avid reader, I always felt the article as it os was missing a lot of what readers want and fails in a lot of aspects in what Wikipiedia tries to do with educating the public on these sorts of things. The article is still quite a ways away from any sort of FA nomination but after completing things in this separate space I can gradually include that into the main article and publish the separate articles related to the film.Paleface Jack (talk) 17:09, 29 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@MagicatthemovieS If you are interested, are there any aspects of the film that interest you the most? Paleface Jack (talk) 17:15, 29 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If you can name some of the stuff you want to add the article, I'll let you know if anything catches my fancy. MagicatthemovieS (talk) 18:50, 29 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@MagicatthemovieS I split my time with the entire lot but the current tasks apply:
  • I still need to finish the filming sections.
  • Production difficulties needs expanded.
  • The separate Special effects article needs expansion
  • Music and sound design will be separated later.
  • The Analysis article needs expansion, though that one is a pretty hefty task.
  • Litigation and legacy sections need expanding.
If any of these you feel drawn towards or feel it applies to your skill set just let me know. Paleface Jack (talk) 19:26, 29 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If you are wondering where the page is, I am including it here. Granted it is long but that is fine. Things will be split up and fine tuned as it goes along. Paleface Jack (talk) 02:40, 30 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The "legacy" and "analysis" sections might interest me. MagicatthemovieS (talk) 13:38, 30 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Let me know if you are working on any other projects. MagicatthemovieS (talk) 14:04, 30 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If you edit in the main userspace I have give me a heads up. I would hate to have us both be editing and loose progress if one of us changes things. Paleface Jack (talk) 18:31, 30 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@MagicatthemovieS I hand you the reigns on those. Have fun. Paleface Jack (talk) 16:12, 30 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Kudos

I wanted to say "hi" and that I think your Texas Chain Saw project is awesome. I made my way to your Talk page a week or two ago from that Tasmanian tiger discussion and saw that you were working on this. I'm a horror fan and a franchise like this deserves a top quality article. I don't have much to offer that project other than a thumbs up. I appreciate your words of encouragement and measured contributions to the cryptid discussions. --MYCETEAE 🍄‍🟫—talk 23:54, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Myceteae: Thanks, my friend. Tis' fine if you feel you have nothing to offer, I am of the view that other perspectives and even the smallest of things counts. At the moment I am trying to figure out a portion of the filming that I am stuck on and how to go about it. On top of that article, I have others as you can see on my page, some I have put in hiatus while others are worked on incrementally.--Paleface Jack (talk) 00:04, 2 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'll take a look and see if I have any feedback or input. It'll be a fun read, regardless! --MYCETEAE 🍄‍🟫—talk 00:15, 2 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Myceteae Fun to work on, apart from some frustrating bits. Paleface Jack (talk) 00:16, 2 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No doubt. It's an impressive undertaking. --MYCETEAE 🍄‍🟫—talk 00:26, 2 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Very, not close to being done with it, the "Last supper" scene has proved to be a challenge. All the separate pages and whatnot will be likewise. Paleface Jack (talk) 01:35, 2 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Ceoil I was being sarcastic. Paleface Jack (talk) 00:07, 9 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
ok cool. John is one of the best we have and dont want him wasting time on basic grammer and what have you stuff. Ceoil (talk) 00:10, 9 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Ceoil I agree. I am frankly glad he is turning his stills to Western film's. those have been underfocused for too long. Paleface Jack (talk) 00:13, 9 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Chain Reactions (film)

Hi there, I just learned of Chain Reactions (film) and wondered if you'd seen it. Could be fodder for your Chain Saw project. I may have an opportunity to attend a showing soon. Anyway, just wanted to say "hi" and alert you to the existence of this documentary, in case you hadn't already heard of it. --MYCETEAE 🍄‍🟫—talk 20:05, 12 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Myceteae Appreciate the message. I am aware of the film, though I have not seen it. My TCM project is quite extensive in terms of the first film. Adding others into that would be stretching myself a little thin. as I am only one individual. Work on the first film has stalled and is slow, with bits and pieces I am stuck on. One of these days that article will beco.pleted. Paleface Jack (talk) 20:14, 12 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Of course. By "fodder for your project" I just meant that the film *might* be a useable reference or provide ideas for the main Chain Saw and Legacy articles. I didn't mean to suggest taking on an update of the Chain Reactions (film) article. Keep up the good work, at your own pace. 😊 --MYCETEAE 🍄‍🟫—talk 20:21, 12 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Myceteae Danke, my friend. So far, structure for the final couple sections have been the issue. Then there is the branching articles that will need to be worked on. The goal is to be complete but not overlong. Paleface Jack (talk) 20:28, 12 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Kieronoldham I noticed you were working on that. Apologies for distracting you from your other project and future ones. looks pretty good now. Paleface Jack (talk) 01:45, 30 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
More than happy to have done so.--Kieronoldham (talk) 01:49, 30 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Kieronoldham What are your future article plans? Paleface Jack (talk) 01:51, 30 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I do not know yet. Was thinking of the 1933 case of Samuel Furnace, but Wiki. doesn't have the article. Will find an article.--Kieronoldham (talk) 01:56, 30 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Kieronoldham Nice. If my recommendations were not that interesting, they can be tedius, I always have more if you dont mind. I am not as thorough as you are when it comes to crime articles, tried my hand and stopped at one which I am trying to redo (1800s newspaper articles, though easy are an eyesore of a citation I have yet to rectify). Always glad to see someone push articles far beyond what I ever could do. Paleface Jack (talk) 02:01, 30 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Will consider your suggestions. I remember Bela Kiss was one.--Kieronoldham (talk) 02:04, 30 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Kieronoldham It's alright if you don't. You have other interests and the one you were talking about should be your next one. I would check the other foreign language Wikipiedia's to see if that article does not exist elsewhere cause sometimes (though rarely for English ones) they do. Paleface Jack (talk) 02:08, 30 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The article I mentioned doesn't exist. After New Year (maybe around 3 or 4 Jan.) I'll start working on another article.--Kieronoldham (talk) 02:10, 30 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Kieronoldham Ah, I misread. Apologies. Enjoy the new years and happy editing. Paleface Jack (talk) 02:24, 30 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup tag on Shtei Etzbaot MiTzidon

Hey! I noticed that you put that on there. I must admit that while this is valid, I'm not too sure what I can do here, this isn't a very plot heavy film, most of it is just usual military stuff. I guess I could try to expand it nonetheless but if I can't expand it too well, then I'll withdraw its GAN. Thanks for placing the tag, though. S.G. (They/Them) (Talk) (Edits) 09:28, 5 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Update: I have expanded the summary heavily and removed the notice. You'll be the judge on if it is good enough or not, but it certainly isn't short. S.G. (They/Them) (Talk) (Edits) 10:40, 5 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
@SignedInteger Looks good, just needs some minor copy editing and links and the plot is passable. I will look over the other portions of the article and see what needs to be done for you to get it passed. Paleface Jack (talk) 15:13, 5 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! To give some of my own notes on the plot summary:
  • I tried to write only the most important parts, this means scenes with Miki, who is the love interest in the film, don't get mentioned much because their impact is, at least to me, nowhere near as important as scenes where characters are having breakdowns over what they've done or scenes that reveal what is clearly an important plot point. Examples: Anything related to Rauf and his fiancée.
  • Links might be a bit hard as the film doesn't specify in some areas, for example "British television stations" are just that, they don't say if it's the BBC or ITV.
That's pretty much all the notes I have here, thanks for your help. S.G. (They/Them) (Talk) (Edits) 15:17, 5 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
@SignedInteger I also advice to look on Google Books for any literary references to it. That and any English sources will help it flow better. Paleface Jack (talk) 15:14, 5 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I'll try to see what I can find. Eli Cohen (the film's director) claimed in an interview related to the film that it got coverage in a whole bunch of newspapers, but I could only find the LA times when searching for that. I'll try to see if I can find the 60 minutes interview which features footage of this film. Thanks again for your help! S.G. (They/Them) (Talk) (Edits) 15:19, 5 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
@SignedInteger no problem. if you need help or advice. I am here. Paleface Jack (talk) 15:21, 5 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
For the Google Books one, I found three books that appear to mention the film. This, this and this, so that should help out with English-language sources. S.G. (They/Them) (Talk) (Edits) 15:25, 5 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
@SignedInteger sounds good Paleface Jack (talk) 15:27, 5 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
As for other English language sources, unfortunately it appears that the 60 Minutes episode wasn't archived, as I cannot find it. I tried to search for it on CBS' YouTube channel and didn't find anything. However, for other press coverage, I am still searching. I'm actually wondering if I should search for coverage of the 1986 Cannes Film Festival to see if any of the coverage there mentions this film in detail. I'll probably be doing that nonetheless since it probably wouldn't harm to search. S.G. (They/Them) (Talk) (Edits) 15:30, 5 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
This is clearly a good one, I will be using it in the production section. S.G. (They/Them) (Talk) (Edits) 15:36, 5 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
@SignedInteger That is good. Paleface Jack (talk) 15:40, 5 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, to conclude the search: I've found the NYT article and the Orlando Sentinel article (That's this) but not much else of note. I should note that if you feel like starting this GAN's review, then go ahead! I'm all for it. It's ok if you don't want to, of course, but since you're taking notice of it like this, I thought that you might be interested in starting a proper GAN review for this. Thanks once again. I'll now look through the three books and see where they could be cited. S.G. (They/Them) (Talk) (Edits) 15:49, 5 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Danke. Paleface Jack (talk) 16:56, 26 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Can you please let me know which statements that are unsourced on the mentioned page. I'd like to get that fixed ASAP. Please ping me. Ktkvtsh (talk) 04:31, 20 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

@Ktkvtsh Best I can say is proofread it. There were several sentences that had no citation associated to them. They were kind of all over. Paleface Jack (talk) 04:35, 20 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
So you added the tag because every sentence in the body didn't have a source attached to it? Every sentence doesn't require a source, especially considering it's not a BLP. If there are specific statements you feel require a source, I'd love to know which ones so I can make sure they have one. Otherwise, I don't believe every sentence in the article requires a source, especially if it is right before a sentence that has a source and is connected. I don't mean to be difficult. Ktkvtsh (talk) 04:42, 20 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
If you can give me a list, I'll get it fixed. If you can't give me a list, please undo the addition of the verification tag. Ktkvtsh (talk) 04:43, 20 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
@Ktkvtsh I will do so tomorrow when my brain recharges. Paleface Jack (talk) 04:48, 20 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I appreciate it. Ktkvtsh (talk) 04:49, 20 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
@Ktkvtsh no problem. If you are looking for other sources, Google Books can be a valuable resource. Paleface Jack (talk) 04:51, 20 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Will check it out for sure. I think the FBI Vault documents will also cover it. Ktkvtsh (talk) 04:54, 20 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
@Ktkvtsh that too. internet archive can find some things as well as newspapers.com. My current projects delves deep into things. Paleface Jack (talk) 05:01, 20 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
ooo great idea! I hadn't considered that. Ktkvtsh (talk) 05:03, 20 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
@Ktkvtsh yeah. my sources are less present day and more 1800s. Paleface Jack (talk) 05:06, 20 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
