Early life and education

Pit was born into a family of a military doctor and a nurse. He spent his childhood in Germany, where his parents served as part of the Group of Soviet Forces in Germany. He attended school there and engaged in sports such as swimming and Greco-Roman wrestling.

Pit graduated from the Minsk Radioengineering Institute. He also served in the airborne troops of the Armed Forces of the USSR.

Career

Since 1994, he has been the guitarist of the N.R.M. band and, after the departure of Lyavon Volski from the group, became the vocalist. In addition, Pit is the founder and leader of the GARADzKIJA and Pete-Paff bands. He also performs concerts with the Pit Pawlaw band.

From 1999 to 2005, he was also a member of the KRIWI band. Moreover, Pit is the creator and head of the initiative "Zhyvy Guk On-line."

Pit actively participated in the 2020 protests in Belarus[1]. He performed in front of striking workers at factories and during marches[2]. In addition, he was one of the creators of the "Courtyard Concerts" initiative. In total, he played more than a hundred times in Minsk courtyards. Together with his band and also solo, he performed many charity internet concerts in support of political prisoners.

On his YouTube channel, he started a show called "How to Play This Song" to support musicians and teach people how to play protest songs. He also hosts a YouTube show called PAMIEŽŽA, where he discusses a variety of social and artistic topics with his guests.

In 2022, Pit relocated to Warsaw.

He performed concerts both with bands and solo in Kiel (Germany), Stockholm (Sweden), Tallinn (Estonia), Riga (Latvia), Vilnius (Lithuania), Tbilisi, Batumi (Georgia), Copenhagen (Denmark), The Hague (Netherlands), and Limassol (Cyprus).

In 2022, he released the album Pit Pawlaw — Zbroja. Zołata. Kabiety.

In 2025, he announced that the N.R.M. band is going to release their final album.[3]
