Hi Zhangyiyang Zou! I noticed that you recently made an edit at Assassin's Creed Shadows and marked it as "minor", but it may not have been. "Minor edit" has a specific definition on Wikipedia: it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Thank you. Sariel Xilo (talk) 17:09, 21 April 2025 (UTC)
- Following up to walk you through why I reverted your most recent edit at Assassin's Creed Shadows since you appear to be doing it as a class assignment:
- Source duplication - that IGN source was already cited in both the video game reviews table & the prose part of the reception section (if you're working from the source, CTRL-F to find
<ref name="IGN"/>). - When I adjusted your original edit, I moved your IGN sentence up so it followed the sentence that starts with "IGN's Jarrett Green wrote"; I also changed the start of your sentence to "Green noted the game's" to align it with the style of the section (reporter name with outlet name instead of outlet names alone).
- GameCritics is not listed at WP:VG/RS; I also checked the outlet's About Us and its listed philosophy seems a bit light in terms of explaining their editorial standards (see IGN's in comparison). The section already has a lot of sources that Wikipedia considers reliable which could be better incorporated instead of using a source of unclear quality.

- The reception section is tagged as needing to be rewritten; I brought this up on the talk page. If you want to boldy tackle that cleanup project, it could use the help. Here's the guidance on video game reception sections; I also think MOS:FILMCRITICS & MOS:TVRECEPTION are useful when developing reception sections as all three articles categories overlap in reception section styles. For examples of well done video game reception sections, check out articles listed at either Wikipedia:Good articles/Video games or Wikipedia:Featured articles#Video gaming. Let me know if you have any questions or you can pop over to Wikipedia:Teahouse to ask questions. Sariel Xilo (talk) 15:54, 25 April 2025 (UTC)
