Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Betsy Arakawa 1980s.jpg
Thank you for uploading File:Betsy Arakawa 1980s.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Not-deer until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article until the discussion has finished.
Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Sport in the Principality of Sealand, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Since you ignored the edit summaries and the talk page discussion, it seems a formal warning is in order.DrKay (talk) 20:26, 21 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@DrKay: As I have already stated, the issues were previously addressed. Your claim that the sources do not support the claim is blatantly incorrect. The sources explicitly make mention of an event occurring yearly. You continuing to add the tags in spite of that is disruptive. ArtemisiaGentileschiFan (talk) 20:28, 21 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm Adam Black. I noticed that you recently removed content from Mata Hari without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Adam Blacktalk • contribs21:28, 15 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Linking to a long, 9.6 kB policy page with multiple sections does not adequately explain why you removed a large chunk of content. Also, I wouldn't call a list of films, stage musicals and songs based on Hari mere "trivia". Some individual content in that section may warrant removal, but much of it is relevant to the article. Adam Blacktalk • contribs07:25, 16 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Just because you don't consider the policy page I linked to be a good enough explanation doesn't mean that I did not leave an edit summary or that I did not explain my edit. ArtemisiaGentileschiFan (talk) 10:22, 16 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Adam Black This is shaping up to be a run of the mill content dispute; please don't use anti-vandalism tools or warnings for those. It can come off as patronizing or insulting (If this was a mistake....If you would like to experiment) and, as you can see here, rarely leads to productive conversations. GreenLipstickLesbian💌🦋 18:47, 16 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
This edit was flagged as likely vandalism in my recent edits feed which is the only reason I reviewed it. It appeared to me to be vandalism and so I reverted and used ultraviolet to leave a warning. If the uw templates are patronising and insulting, perhaps we shouldn't use them at all? I happen to think they are helpful. Adam Blacktalk • contribs18:53, 16 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Adam Black.... okay, that's what I was worried about. An experienced editor removing a large amount of unsourced and dubiously sourced content, with an explanation in the edit summary, isn't vandalism. You might disagree with the change, that's fair, but it's not, by any stretch of the imagination, anything resembling a deliberate attempt to damage Wikipedia.(WP:VANDALISM). Please review WP:VANDNOT at your earliest convenience, thank you so much. GreenLipstickLesbian💌🦋 19:08, 16 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
And you were worried that my warning may come off as patronizing and insulting? I will admit I do not always get it right when I am reviewing potential vandalism but I do not need a patronising lecture from you to improve. Please review WP:AGF and WP:CIVIL. Adam Blacktalk • contribs20:23, 16 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Adam Black You don't always have to get it right, but, well, you added about 10k bytes of mostly unsourced content to an article. That's not okay, but digging in and insisting that it was vandalism is worse. I originally thought you might have just been going a bit too quickly and used the anti-vandalism tools in a content dispute because you found it more convenient than a manual revert, hence my original comment, but I was worried that you did see the edit as vandalism - but in case you did, I was trying to give you an opportunity to save face and pivot the conversation back to the actual content dispute. I haven't accused you of acting in bad faith, and I don't think in are, and I'm sorry that you find my telling you that you falsely accused somebody of vandalism is uncivil. How would you like to be told that in future? GreenLipstickLesbian💌🦋 20:50, 16 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

What you said was removed fictional characters. You didn't say why. Don't get me wrong, what you wrote is better than nothing, but the point of an edit summary is to explain an edit to other editors, and the 'why' is just as important as the 'what'.
I don't think it's necessary to tag me with a vandalism template.
You removed a large chunk of content from a page without adequate explanation, which is absolutely akin to vandalism. I'm assuming good faith of course, but I wanted to get across the severity.
precedent established by other pages
Sure, and we could consider adopting the same precedent on this page, but that needs to be discussed first. Like I said, the scope is clearly defined in the lead. Did you not see it or what? By the way, at least one other person has tried removing trivial entries, and I'm on the fence myself about some of them.

Autopatrolled granted
Hi ArtemisiaGentileschiFan, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the autopatrolled user right to your account. This means that pages you create will automatically be marked as 'reviewed', and no longer appear in the new pages feed. Autopatrolled is assigned to prolific creators of articles, where those articles do not require further review, and may have been requested on your behalf by someone else. It doesn't affect how you edit; it is used only to manage the workload of new page patrollers.
Since the articles you create will no longer be systematically reviewed by other editors, it is important that you maintain the high standard you have achieved so far in all your future creations. Please also try to remember to add relevant WikiProject templates, stub tags, categories, and incoming links to them, if you aren't already in the habit; user scripts such as Rater and StubSorter can help with this. As you have already shown that you have a strong grasp of Wikipedia's core content policies, you might also consider volunteering to become a new page patroller yourself, helping to uphold the project's standards and encourage other good faith article writers.

I undid your addition of WikiProject Law Enforcement to the talk page of the Arrest of Rodrigo Duterte. If you read that WikiProject's Scope section you will see that articles about crime and criminals are outside scope of WikiProject Law Enforcement. If you had scanned the previous edits to the article's tak pahe you might have also noticed that the same wikiproject had been removed previously with an edit summary that explained the article was out of scope. While executing an arrest warrant is something that police may undertake as part of their day to day workload, a particular arrest is not directly Law Enforcement related because it involves the Police acting on an arrest warrant that has been issued by a judicial authority in response to a criminal charge or allegation. Since the article is already in the scope of WikiProject Crime and Criminal Biography, there is no point in it also being in the scope of WikiProject Law Enforcement]], as the two WikiProjects are complementary and don't cover the same ground. Also please see the guidelines WP:PROJSCOPE and WP:OVERBANNER for the broader policy about adding WikiProject banners of low importance. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 21:17, 25 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Please leave descriptive edit summaries that explain your edits
Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that your recent edit to Talk:Impeachment of Yoon Suk Yeol did not have an edit summary. Collaboration among editors is fundamental to Wikipedia, and every edit should be explained by a clear edit summary, or by discussion on the talk page. Please use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit and/or to describe what it changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.
Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. When logged in to your Wikipedia account, you can give yourself a reminder by setting Preferences → Editing → Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary (or the default undo summary), and then click the "Save" button.
Because your edit summary did not provide an explanation for why you added the WikiProject Crime banner to the Impeachment of Yoon Suk Yeol article, I have removed the banner. Also the article mentions that "the impeachment trial is not a criminal proceeding" so the article would appear to be out of scope of that WikiProject, too. If you had provided an edit summary, I might have better understood your reasons for adding the banner. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 23:10, 25 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I honestly don't understand why people seem so quick to call out people in this particular article space. I had an issue the other day where I was accused of edit warring because, after a single revert, I responded to a request for additional sources for a certain piece of information by finding and inserting a high quality source for a piece of information. And now you've got people talking about "low-quality" edits based on a similar context - a single edit. I'm kind of scratching my head at the level of sensitivity. My suspicion is someone in the LW community is making noise about unfairness on WP on their forums. Simonm223 (talk) 12:21, 8 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You have recently edited a page related to articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia's norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Hi AGFan! Just wanted to flag that I had to nominate for deletion on Commons the image you uploaded of Simone Leigh's Brick House sculpture as installed in Venice in 2022. There is no freedom of panorama in Italy, so we cannot host images of copyrighted art if the art is pictured in Italy.
There are, however, twoimages of the same sculpture installed in Switzerland, which will remain on Commons because Switzerland has sufficient freedom of panorama. The work was permanently installed outdoors in Switzerland so it's legal to make and monetize images of the work as installed there.
No worries! Just wanted to flag so you saw there were other pics available for the article - not as close up and not installed in as significant a venue as the Biennale, but still hopefully useful :) Enjoy your weekend! 19h00s (talk) 17:45, 26 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

In this edit [1] you removed a neutrality template that was under active discussion on the talk page. It is moot now, since the issue is subject to an RfC, but please have a read of WP:MAINTENANCEDISAGREEMENT, which is linked from the template itself. Please be aware of point 3 under "when not to remove". You should not be removing templates where there is an unresolved question under active consideration, simply because you disagree. Introduction to contentious topics
You have recently edited a page related to gender-related disputes or controversies or people associated with them, a topic designated as contentious.

Two weeks ago, the 2025 Developing Countries WikiContest came to a close! After three months of stiff competition at the top of the leaderboard, we have our winners. vigilantcosmicpenguin (submissions), continuing his work on covering abortion in Africa, comes in third with 692 points. simongraham (submissions) comes in second with 763 points, largely from a slew of good articles about jumping spiders. And returning to the podium for the second year in a row, BeanieFan11 (submissions) takes the Gold Belt Buckle with a mind-boggling 946 points from his series of articles on sportpersons. Congratulations to our winners!
Amazingly, the award for the most countries covered goes to both BeanieFan11 (submissions) and simongraham (submissions), who each submitted articles under 30 flags! BeanieFan11 (submissions) also wins for writing the most quality articles (16 good articles). For submitting 16 articles related to El Salvador, PizzaKing13 (submissions) wins the award for most submissions under one country. The award for most submissions related to women goes to both Spookyaki (submissions) (7 biographies about women) and vigilantcosmicpenguin (submissions) (21 related articles). And for the second year, simongraham (submissions) wins for the most reviews, having submitted 21!
Among the participants' contributions were 2 FAs, 5 FLs, 124 GAs, and an uncounted number of DYKs, ITNs, and reviews of every kind! Regardless of your level of participation, every contestant can be proud to have contributed towards a major step in countering the systemic bias on Wikipedia. Every year, millions of readers and editors around the globe use Wikipedia to educate themselves and communicate with others about parts of the world that often receive less attention than they deserve. Thank you for participating with us in the contest and contributing to this effort. The DCWC will return next year, and we look forward to seeing you contribute again! However, before that...
We need your feedback! Join the conversation on the talk page to discuss your reflections on the contest (even if you didn't participate!) and help us make it better.

Howardcorn33 has given you a refreshing Moxie! Moxie is soft drink flavored with gentian root extract created around 1876 as a patent medicine called "Moxie Nerve Food." It is the origin of the word "moxie", a noun meaning energy, determination, and spunk.

Hello! Voting in the 2025 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 1 December 2025. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
Please stop re-introducing jokes into the caption. The current caption aligns with the source of the photo, and there is no compelling reason for it to state where the photo is not taken, vs where it actually is taken. OhNoitsJamieTalk23:03, 24 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Ohnoitsjamie: The caption I inserted is not a joke and I don't see why you would think it is. The page is specifically about a bill that proposed to introduce hippos to the ecosystem of Louisiana, so it is entirely apt and relevant to mention that they are not endemic to Louisiana. A mention of Uganda is entirely irrelevant. The caption should be relevant to the page it's on. ArtemisiaGentileschiFan (talk) 02:07, 25 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You and I both know it was a joke featured on a popular page about funny/interesting bits in Wikipedia. The text already makes it clear that they are not endemic to Louisiana; per Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Captions, captions should be concise and informative; there's nothing in that policy about discussing what an image is not or making subtle jokes. Your recent editing history at Wikipedia:WTF? OMG! TMD TLA. ARG! shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. This means that you are repeatedly changing a page's content back to how you believe it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree with your changes. Please stop editing the page and use the talk page to work toward creating a version of the page that represents consensus among the editors involved. Wikipedia provides a page explaining how this is accomplished. If discussions reach an impasse, you can request help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution such as a third opinion. In some cases, you may wish to request page protection while a discussion to resolve the dispute is ongoing.
If you continue edit warring, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, or whether it involves the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also, please keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule— if things indicate that you intend to continue reverting content on the page. —Locke Cole • t • c • b 06:15, 3 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
@Locke Cole: in cases of a content disagreement, the course of action is to start a discussion and then implement the consensus. This is what I did. It is within protocol to restore the edit now that there is overwhelming consensus. ArtemisiaGentileschiFan (talk) 06:18, 3 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war, according to the reverts you've made to 2026 Tumbler Ridge shooting. This means that you are repeatedly reverting content back to how you think it should be, despite knowing that other editors disagree. Once it is known that there is a disagreement, users are expected to collaborate with others, avoid editing disruptively, and try to reach a consensus – rather than repeatedly reverting the changes made by other users.
Important points to note:
Edit warring is disruptive behavior – regardless of how many reverts you have made;
Do not engage in edit warring – even if you believe that you are right.

I am concerned that David Woodard is in fact user on PARAKANYAA Wikipedia.
Although he has edited many articles on Wikipedia these are all articles that are of personal interest to David Woodard.
Adding things “aesthetic fascinations of Woodard” PARAKANYAA trying to make this article more like this strange gobbledygook article from the past.
David Woodard should want a good accurate article. David Woodard and he has a website that he started in 1989, which had a biography that was fake saying he was born in 1969 instead of 1964.
PARAKANYAA claims to be a Woodard expert but clearly if so would know about the truth about the Website as it is cited in the SF Gate Article. PARAKANYAA is claiming that the website davidwoodard.com has been private and blank since 1989 because he is trying to make Wikipedia look foolish again. Archive Today has saves of the website you can check them for the dates. He thinks he can control the David Woodard Article, and he has many sock puppets and multiple accounts.
Everything that he posts about on his talk page that he's very proud of editing appears to be things about terrorism and other unpleasant subjects. Please be very careful what you say to him and and don't get steered into falling for his confidence tricks.
@Girlfriend727 I am not Woodard. Obviously. In fact, for some time, I thought YOU were Woodard, though I have since found evidence that this is not the case. I have freaky interests, a fact of which everyone here is aware. That is not a trait exclusive to Woodard. Any Wikipedia editor who knows me can attest to the fact that I am not Woodard. Any WP:CHECKUSER will make it quite obvious I am not Woodard.
Also, I was not the person who added the "aesthetic fascinations of Woodard", or suggested that. [3]. That was 1904.CC.
I am saying that we cannot prove anything on his website since it is not accessible to the public and we have no archive.org captures of it, and linking readers to a website with nothing on it is useless. Was there stuff on the website in the past? Yes, I never disputed that. But we have no way to link to it so showing readers a blank screen is not helpful. The consensus on Wikipedia is that archive.today is not trustworthy and cannot be linked.
also, not that this needs further evidence, but Woodard socks typically haven't edited the topics Para does - they often edit topics that Woodard is personally passionate about, like inserting mentions of himself into random articles, Czech classical music, and his wife. ... sawyer * any/all * talk12:03, 24 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
