- And his Korean name is 이종연.

- Of course, he didn't have outstanding performance during Battle of Chosin Reservoir. Therefore, he is not the recipient of Medal of Honour, Purple Heart and so on.
- But on the retreat, he successfully completed the missions of interpreter officer and provisional commander of KATUSA platoon in 1st Marine Division.
- Therefore he received the Legion of Merit from US Government in 1951.
- In the Battle of Chosin Reservoir, he was the only ROK Army officer veteran who wholly fought alongside US Marines in the field.
- That is to say, he had unique military career, Therefore, he always be invited to the memorial events of Battle of Chosin Reservoir in South Korea.

- Delete - he served with distinction. As did hundreds of thousands of other soldiers during the 20th century. Not sure why this wasn't A7'd, as I don't even see significance, let alone notability. Fails WP:GNG.Onel5969 TT me 20:35, 17 March 2023 (UTC)
