I've corrected the reference to Ancestry, adding specific family history documents instead. Urbanora (talk) 17:23, 1 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Unless you're about 150 years old, https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Ada_Aline_Urban.jpg is not your own work. It needs a source. The sad possibility is that it is still in copyright. --Tagishsimon (talk) 12:15, 5 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The image was donated to me by by a descendant of the subject, with permission to make use of it as I wished Urbanora (talk) 15:02, 5 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Urbanora, would you be able to add more information on Commons (above link) about the origin of the image? If you have any questions, the c:Commons:Help_desk is usually very responsive, and the c:Commons:Volunteer Response Team may be able to help resolve the matter too. Worth a try. It would be a shame to lose the photo as it adds a lot to the article! Cheers, Cl3phact0 (talk) 16:39, 5 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I obtained the image around twenty years ago when I was writing a book about Ada Aline Urban's husband. The original photograph was owned by her grandson, Charles Bruce Mousell, now deceased. He gave me full permission to use the image as I wished, permission that given verbally. I do not know the date that the photograph was made, though from visual evidence it is probably from the 1910s, nor do I know who the photographer. So the assumption is that the photograph was/is the property of the Mousell family, but that permission was granted effectively for it to be treated as public domain. The image has been published before under this assumption, here: https://wfpp.columbia.edu/pioneer/ccp-ada-aline-urban/ Urbanora (talk) 22:24, 5 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Elsie Cohen, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page National Portrait Gallery. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
