Sock tags

Hello. Please, do not add or change sock tags like {{Sockpuppet}} or {{Sockpuppeteer}}. These are added by SPI clerks, admins or checkusers. Thank you. MarioGom (talk) 16:39, 8 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

No, I'll carry on doing it as often these are forgotten or overlooked. - SchroCat (talk) 16:45, 8 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Please, see the documentation of these template:

In general, this template should only be applied by Administrators or Clerks as part of the Sockpuppet investigations process.

There are good reasons for this: sometimes tags are intentionally not added, also they are added with specific parameters blocked/proven/confirmed with very precise meanings, and never without second parameter like you did here. I understand you're doing this to help, but this is disruptive to the SPI process. MarioGom (talk) 20:44, 8 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe you should read it. It begins “On general”, not “always”. I’ll keep doing it, as your deleting of several tags from the same sock is a massive pain in the arse and a backwards step: there are now a batch of connected socks that are not showing as being connected, which is stupid. - SchroCat (talk) 21:58, 8 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
