Disambiguation link notification for December 25
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of heads of state and government Nobel laureates, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Christian Lange. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

List of prime ministers of Bangladesh
Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. We always appreciate when users upload files. However, it appears that one or more of the files you have uploaded or added to a page, specifically List of prime ministers of Bangladesh, may fail our non-free policy. Most often, this involves editors uploading or using a copyrighted file of a living person. For other possible reasons, please read up on our Non-free criteria. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 10:51, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Tausheef Hassan. Just going to explain why I removed the non-free images you added to List of prime ministers of Bangladesh and the corresponding non-free use rationales you added to each file's page. Wikipedia's non-free content use policy is quite restrictive and there are ten criteria that each use of a non-free file needs to meet for it to be considered a valid use. If even WP:JUSTONE of these criteria isn't satisfied, then the use is considered to not be policy compliant. Non-images are pretty much never allowed to be used to illustrate individual entries in stand-alone lists articles or in list-like, table-like or gallery-like sections of other articles because such uses are considered for the most part to be WP:DECORATIVE and not allowed per WP:NFCC#1, WP:NFCC#8, WP:NFLISTS and WP:NFTABLES. This has pretty much how relevant Wikipedia policy has been consistently applied to such non-free use over the years; so, I've removed the images from the article. If you disagree with this assessment and would like some other opinions, you can ask either at WP:MCQ or WT:NFCC, or you can start a discussion about things at WP:FFD. I think you're going to have a very hard (perhaps impossible) time of convincing others that this type of non-free use meets relevant Wikipedia policy, but you can of course ask if you want. -- Marchjuly (talk) 11:00, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for your clarification. I initially misunderstood this section Non-free image use in list articles and assumed that the use of non-free images in the list was permitted if done cautiously. Tausheef Hassan (talk) 09:38, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
Replaceable non-free use File:Mashiur Rahman (politician, born 1924).jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Mashiur Rahman (politician, born 1924).jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of non-free use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of non-free use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{Di-replaceable non-free use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable non-free use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file's talk page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 11:14, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
