  • Do we know religion?
That's a complicated question. The short answer is that he was undoubtedly Jewish. The problem is, I haven't yet found a RS which comes out and says that. I have sources that talk about him being president of the Pelham Parkway Jewish Center (and it's probably not a RS anyway). I have https://lehman.edu/office-academic-programs/documents/MALS-Self-Study-2023.pdf, which does come out and say it, but I'm not convinced that would hold up to scrutiny as a RS. And lots more of the same, but I'll keep looking.
  • We seem a bit short on images. Any advertisements from his clothing store are likely public domain?
Yeah, another frustrating thing. I have an excellent photo of Karmon along with Walter Gladwin and some other people, but the owner of the photo doesn't appear to be inclined to let me use it under an acceptable license. I like the idea of looking for a store ad, I'll see if I can find one.
  • " Colin Powell, who at the time was a student at City College and ROTC member.[1]" What time was this? You say the store was open for decades.
Added his graduation date.
  • "and was buried at the Cedar Park Cemetery in Paramus, New Jersey." Buried or laid to rest? That cemetery has a large mausoleum building.
The source says "interred" and I can't find anything else, so I changed the wording.

OK, I think I've gone about as far as I can go on the first two items, without much to show for it. There's a fair amount of additional coverage of Karmon, but it's mostly details here and there. I think what I've got now is sufficient to meet the WP:GACR of "addresses the main aspects of the topic". At some point I need to do a deep dive into the private collections at the Bronx County Historical Society, Lehman College, and Fordham College. At that point, I should be able to meet WP:FACR's "comprehensive" requirement and I expect this will show up there at some point once I've been able to do that. PS, I did find this photo, but it's of such low quality, I don't think it would add anything to the article. RoySmith (talk) 01:09, 6 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
