Description
Português: A maneira mais original de circular entre a Cidade Alta e a Cidade Baixa é através do Elevador Lacerda, um dos marcos da capital baiana inaugurado em 1872. Com 72 metros de altura, liga a Praça Tomé de Souza (parte alta) à Praça Cairu, onde fica o Mercado Modelo. Restaurado em 2002, ganhou nova iluminação noturna e janelas panorâmicas que descortinam o cais e o mercado. São quatro cabines, sendo que a 1 e a 2 são originais, utilizadas desde a inauguração. As de número 3 e 4 são da obra de 1930. As viagens duram cerca de 30 segundos e transportam uma média de 20 mil pessoas por dia.
