Fantaazma (also known as Fantasma or Fantasma Goria) is a multi-lingual intermedia performance artist, songwriter and musician from Hamburg, Germany. Fantaazma's art combines elements of opera, rap, and soul/R&B, electronica, funk, and hip-hop, alongside interpretive dance, Jungian archetypal performance, Virtual Reality (VR) technology, and modern dramaturgical concepts influenced by Gesamtkunstwerk, Promenade Immersive Theater, and other ideas propagated by Fluxus. Signed to Bootzilla Records.[1][2] Fantaazma currently collaborates through the label with other artists such as Bootsy Collins, Dave Stewart, Buckethead, Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa, Victor Wooten, Branford Marsalis and Marcus Miller.
Fantaazma exclusively performs and appears in public in distinct wigs, heterochromia, and costumes, each representing a specific archetypal persona.
Musical career
Fantaazma's debut album, Fantasma Goria,[3] was released on June 10, 2017, under the label, Fantaazmic Productions.
Her subsequent project, Fantaazma's Remix Safari, released on April 20, 2018, featured remixes by electronica and funk producers such as Hans Nieswandt.[4]
She also appeared on his 2019 album Hochkultur[5], where her vocal work is featured on multiple tracks, including a lengthy performance on "Suppengabel".[6]
In 2019, Fantaazma collaborated with German rapper Samy Deluxe on his live SaMTV Unplugged project.[citation needed] During this project tour, she performed live with Samy Deluxe at DEICHBRAND Festival 2019, a major German music festival known for featuring prominent artists. A full archival video of the event, hosted on DEICHBRAND Festival's official YouTube channel, confirms her live performance.'[7]
In 2022 Fantaazma was signed to the United States based recording label, Bootzilla Records. This was accompanied by a string of collaborations with Bootsy Collins and other American based artists (see the Collaborations section below). The first of such collaborations were "Hip Hop Lollipop",[8] "Rocketship",[9] and "Funk Not Fight",[10][11][12][13][14] and the 2025 release of Album of the Year #1 Funkateer[15][16][17][18][19][20]
During an interview at SXSW, Bootsy stated that Fantaazma's ability to precisely reproduce his custom sound treatments on the song "Fantaazmic," (released on the Poltergeist EP[21]) which was inspired by Bootsy Collins's "Party on Plastic," was a key factor in his decision to recommend her being signed to Bootzilla Records.[22]
