Early Life and Education
Ross L. Boggess was born in Madisonville, Kentucky and raised in Lexington, Kentucky. He graduated from Henry Clay High School in 2015, where he was actively involved in student leadership, serving as Student Body President and a founding member of the Prichard Committee Student Voice Team. In high school, he also served as a United States Senate Page in Washington, D.C.
Boggess attended the University of Kentucky (UK), where he majored in Community & Leadership Development. He was involved in several leadership roles, including serving as UK’s Wildcat mascot for four years, a UK Alumni Ambassador, and a Student Government Association leader.
Career
Real Estate Development and Urban Planning
Boggess is a real estate developer and broker with a focus on urban planning, community growth, and land use policy. He has been actively involved in commercial real estate development, affordable housing, and transit-oriented projects. His work includes master development consulting for the Trinity Mills Transit Center in Texas and land development in Nicholasville, Kentucky.
In 2023, Boggess published an op-ed in the Lexington Herald-Leader, advocating for a balanced approach to preservation and development in Lexington. He highlighted inconsistencies in land use policies and encouraged a merit-based evaluation of real estate projects (Lexington Herald-Leader).
University of Kentucky and Campus Leadership
At UK, Boggess held multiple leadership positions:
- Wildcat Mascot (2015–2019) – Served as the university’s official mascot for four years, including performing at national championships.
