Ankita Konwar (born 30 August 1991) is an Indian sports entrepreneur, model, and endurance athlete. She founded the Invincible Women’s Run,[1] an ultra-distance running event for women,[2] and previously served in the aviation industry. She is married to actor and model Milind Soman,[3] with whom she frequently collaborates on fitness initiatives.[4][5]

Early life

Konwar was born in Guwahati, Assam, to parents Nagen Chandra Konwar and Niranjana Borgohain.[6] She began her career in 2013 as a cabin crew executive with AirAsia in Malaysia.[5]

Career

Sports and entrepreneurial ventures

Konwar has participated in fitness and endurance events alongside Milind Soman.[5] In 2018, she completed her first full marathon of 42 kilometers in Athens.[7] She has also taken part in ultra-distance stadium runs, ultra runs exceeding 50 kilometers, and city-to-city runs.[8][9] A practitioner of yoga, she teaches and promotes its benefits.[10][11] In 2023, she founded the Invincible Women Run, an ultra-distance running event exclusively for women. In 2024, she co-authored the book Keep Moving with her husband and mother-in-law, focusing on health and relationships.[12][13]

Konwar and Milind Soman participate in an annual long-distance run at the end of the year, covering distances of over 100 kilometers between cities. They have completed this run in Sri Lanka, Japan, Tanzania, and various locations in India.[14] In 2024, they ran from Porbandar to Dwarka in Gujarat.[15]

Personal life

Konwar met Milind Soman in 2014 in Chennai,[16] and after four years of dating, they married on 22 April 2018 in a private Maharashtrian ceremony in Alibag, Maharashtra.[17] Later that year, they also held a barefoot wedding ceremony in Spain.[18]

Criticism

Ankita Konwar's relationship with Milind Soman has received media attention, particularly due to their age difference of nearly 26 years.[5] Since making their relationship public, it has been a topic of discussion in the media and on social platforms. Konwar has faced criticism regarding the age gap, which both she and Soman have addressed in public statements.[19][20]
