Question from IND123456 (14:28, 26 February 2025)
Hi. I am facing difficulties in adding images in any article. Please help me out... Thanks --IND123456 (talk) 14:28, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
- Hi IND123456, thanks for the message. The answer is a bit complicated.
- If you took the photo, or if it has been released under a free license, you can upload it to Wikimedia Commons, then add it to the article with wikitext like
[[File:IMAGE NAME HERE.jpg|thumb]]
, or with the "+" button in the Visual Editor. - If the photo hasn't been released under a free license (like most photos you might find online), you'll need to check if it meets Wikipedia's non-free content criteria. If it does, you can upload it by going to Wikipedia:File upload wizard and clicking "Upload a non-free file", then following the instructions. Then you can edit the article to add it as described above.
- If you took the photo, or if it has been released under a free license, you can upload it to Wikimedia Commons, then add it to the article with wikitext like
- You can find a lot more details at Wikipedia:Images. There are many different kinds of images and many ways to use them, with special rules and guidelines in some cases, so please let me know if you have any follow-up questions. If you tell me more about the image and the article, I can give you more specific advice. —Mx. Granger (talk · contribs) 14:39, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
- Ok. Thank you very much Mx. Granger. Will revert after a bit of study on it. Thanks for your help. IND123456 (talk) 12:32, 28 February 2025 (UTC)

how can i tell what is text and what isnt? --Cyrian88 (talk) 18:40, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Cyrian88, thanks for the message. If you're asking about how Wikipedia articles' formatting is generated by wikitext, you can find detailed information at Help:Wikitext and a basic guide at Help:Introduction to editing with Wiki Markup. If you mean something else, can you please rephrase the question? —Mx. Granger (talk · contribs) 15:04, 27 February 2025 (UTC)
Question from Long Wama Inch (22:25, 27 February 2025)
How do I create Citation? --Long Wama Inch (talk) 22:25, 27 February 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Long Wama Inch, thanks for the message. If you use the source editor (from the links that say "Edit source"), take a look at Help:Referencing for beginners. If you use the VisualEditor, there's a guide at Help:Introduction to referencing with VisualEditor/2. It can be a bit confusing at first, so let me know if you have any follow-up questions! —Mx. Question from Rohanism2511 on Wikipedia:Requested moves (12:18, 1 March 2025)
Hey men how can I edit banafar page ? It is protected and showing wrong information on internet --Rohanism2511 (talk) 12:18, 1 March 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Rohanism2511, thanks for the message. Because the page is protected, you can't edit it directly, but you can make an edit request at Talk:Banaphar. Please read through the instructions at Wikipedia:Edit requests and the previous discussions on the talk page first though, because it looks like there's a history of controversy at that article. I know it can seem a bit complicated at first, so let me know if you have any follow-up questions! —Mx. Granger (talk · contribs) 04:10, 2 March 2025 (UTC)

Question from WWtext (11:16, 5 March 2025)
Hi Mx. Granger, I started editing Wikipedia yesterday and you are my mentor. All of my edits were deleted by two other people, the first edit within one minute. What is going on? How can I proceed? The article I am working on is Daniela Ambrosoli. Thank you for your help. --WWtext (talk) 11:16, 5 March 2025 (UTC)
- Hi WWtext, thanks for the message. It looks like your edits were reverted because they looked promotional. For instance, the sentence
Her multifaceted professional endeavors all reflect her strong dedication to the performing arts, her concern for the wellbeing and training of young artists, and her willingness to invest her time, resources, and creativity for social betterment.
reads like a PR piece designed to make the subject sound good, not like an impartial encyclopedia article. Your additions are more likely to stay if you make them neutral, factual, and rigorously supported by reliable sources. - If you have some affiliation with Daniela Ambrosoli, you should take a look at the Wikipedia:Conflict of interest guideline. (And if you're being paid for these edits, you're required to disclose that per Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.)
- Either way, rather than continuing to try to re-add the material that has been removed (what's known here as an edit war), the right way to respond when someone reverts your edits is to start a discussion at the talk page, in this case Talk:Daniela Ambrosoli.
- Please let me know if you have any other questions – I know it takes some time to get used to Wikipedia's practices and expectations. —Mx. Granger (talk · contribs) 14:24, 5 March 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you Mx. Granger for your very helpful suggestions. WWtext (talk) 16:37, 5 March 2025 (UTC)
Question from Maryam Shamoon (08:39, 9 March 2025)
Hi, How can I apply for free Visa In abroad To education --Maryam Shamoon (talk) 08:39, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Maryam Shamoon, thanks for the message. Although Wikipedia has some articles about visa rules, it's not reliable enough to depend on for information about legal procedures. I would suggest contacting an immigration lawyer, or a local consulate or embassy from the country where you want to study. —Mx. Granger (talk · contribs) 22:08, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
Question from AKL02 (07:12, 10 March 2025)

- Hi Adam/AKL02, thanks for the message. A good place to start is Help:Referencing for beginners. The important thing is to use reliable sources and put the key information about the source (title, author, link if applicable, etc.) between
