The was the first clerk of the Court of Halifax County. The was also a colonel of the colonial militia and a member of the provincial congress. This painting hangs in the Grand Lodge of North Carolina building in Raleigh. Considered fair use as it is a photograph of a two-dimensional work whose author died at least 200 years ago.
