Thank you for attending! Wiki World's Fair - Your complimentary shirt!
Thank you User:Legoktm for attending the Wiki World's Fair at the Queens Museum in August! A round of applause to all who attended, socialized, gave lightning talks, edited, listened, and toured the Panorama of the City of New York. Thank you to Xavier Robles-Armas and the Queens Museum for having us. For the first time in Wikimania history, we held a T-shirt design contest during the event to generate a shirt for the conference. We are excited to announce we have produced a shirt with the winning design by User:Bagelpigeon. As previously announced, the shirts will be given, free of charge, to those that attended the conference. You are a confirmed attendee and now is your chance to claim your free shirt! If you want a shirt, we need your size!

What size are you? Please fill out this Google form or email: Wil@Wikimedianyc.org (One "L") Once we have everyone's size and we will order them and distribute them at local meet-ups or via mail. If you are out of town, please include your mailing address. The shirts will be available Feb or later.

(User:Pharos, seen here wearing a size large)

Please let us know by January 15 or come to Wikipedia Day 2023 at the Jefferson Market Library and let us know in person!

Font tag replacement

Hi Legoktm. I was wondering if you knew regarding font tags, how should font tags with relative sizes (i.e. +1, -1) be replaced? From my testing with span, it doesn't appear that this functionality was transferred from font tags. — Tenshi! (Talk page) 22:48, 10 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

@Tenshi Hinanawi: it's documented in the HTML spec. Or might be easier to understand in code form. Legoktm (talk) 23:17, 10 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
So my understanding is that +1 would be 4 and -1 would be 1. Converting those, they would be "large" and "x-small"? Tenshi! (Talk page) 23:29, 10 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, +1 is 4 and therefore "large". But -1 is actually 2, because it's 3-1 ("If mode is relative-minus, then let value be the result of subtracting value from 3."), so it becomes "small". Legoktm (talk) 03:20, 11 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Arbitration

  • Following a motion, remedy 9.1 of the Conduct in deletion-related editing case has been amended to limit TenPoundHammer to one XfD nomination or PROD per 24-hour period.
  • Following a motion, the Iskandar323 further POV pushing motion has been rescinded.

Empty Categories tool

Hello, Legoktm,

I think there is a problem with Toolforge as the Empty Categories link tool isn't working. Can you check on it when you have a few minutes? Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 20:31, 2 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I missed the announcement about the change last month, I should be able to fix it by tomorrow. Legoktm (talk) 18:50, 3 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Also, HaleBot's Wikipedia:Database reports/Empty categories isn't updating either. Much appreciated, Legoktm! Liz Read! Talk! 21:51, 3 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]
@Liz: I've updated both now so you should be set. I've converted the on-wiki report to use SDZeroBot's Template:database report, which means you can trigger an update whenever you want using its web interface (it'll take just over a minute), and if future changes need to be made to the SQL, any on-wiki editor can fix them and not just me (though of course I'm always willing to help you out!!!).
If that works well for you I think we could sunset the standalone Empty Categories tool. Legoktm (talk) 03:16, 4 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]

I think you have been inactive for a while

I think you've took a Wikibreak. Will you ever come back to editing? Also how is Legobot doing? Happy wikibreak!

- SimpleObjects-9ei (talk) 22:22, 8 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page watcher) @SimpleObjects-9ei: Two days with no edits is not a "wikibreak". If Lego is taking a wikibreak, please let them add the {{wikibreak}} themselves. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 22:55, 8 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]
No. It's also not the wikifact because if a user did not edit for more than 2 days, I wonder:
"Hm. Is this user taking a Wikibreak?"
If the user did not edit for more than I think more than 10 days, 1 month, 1 year, the release date for GTA 6, then I wonder...:
"Bro is actually taking a Wikibreak"
One example is PeterSymonds, which we talked about before but left Wikipedia in 2013. Yet, I get it: if a user retires from Wikipedia, I shouldn't be like attempting to play poker and not add the Wikibreak template. It was no commercial failure mistake I made. - SimpleObjects-9ei (talk) 23:18, 8 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]
@SimpleObjects-9ei: it's been an hour since you last edited, are you on wikibreak now? Legoktm (talk) 01:44, 11 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Not really. If you've seen me not editing from 02:00 to ~15:00 UTC that was because I'm sleeping. - SimpleObjects-9ei (talk) 02:35, 11 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]

  • Special report: What actually happened during the Wikimedia security incident?
A horrifying exploit took place, which could have had catastrophic and far-reaching consequences if used maliciously; instead, it seems to have happened by accident and was used for childish vandalism. How did this happen, and what did the script actually do?
