Hmm, maybe so. According to WP:RSP: Kickstarter is a crowdfunding website specializing in funding for new works of fiction. As a primary source, it should usually be avoided for topics involving crowdfunding campaigns where better sources are available. The 2020 RfC gained a consensus for Kickstarter to be placed on the Wikipedia spam blacklist; links must be whitelisted before they can be used.Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 17:51, 8 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I remember the kickstarter caused a lot of RS discussion at the time. It's often better to say: "The New Yorker reported..." or "The Daily Beast described the situation as..." and use the reliable secondaries to detail the event. BusterD (talk) 18:02, 8 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
