Español: Carlos Velásquez Monge, titular de la Dirección General de Aeronáutica Civil (DGAC) informó de los trabajos de rehabilitación de la pista actica de la terminal aérea que duraron 4 meses y se realizaron en horarios nocturnos, para no interferir en los vuelos que ingresan al país. El costo de la obra fue de Q55.6 millones, fondos provenientes de Aeronáutica Civil.
Además, Monge resaltó la adquisición de nuevos sistemas de seguridad para el campo de aviación referido, con la finalidad de que el país sea visto como un atractivo turístico a nivel internacional. Los nuevos sistemas de seguridad para las instalaciones aéreas consisten en cuatro equipos de escaneo corporal, a usarse en la inspección no intrusiva de personas; y nuevas máquinas de rayos X, para la revisión de equipaje de mano, además de 13 arcos detectores de metales. El nuevo equipo representó una inversión de Q13.5 millones. |
