Ishte një plak e një plakë e skishin² as chupë, as djalë. Ede i kërkuan Perndizë. Perndija i da një di. Ede një di plakë: lante. Plakë si lante, ajd i kërkuan rrobat ta s' i ljanjë. Edi, «Ver mi rrobat më brinjët». I mori rrobat më brinjët ede vajta ndë përŭat, ti ljanjë. I vŭri rrobat për de, ede dzhveshi lëkurën. Si e ndzori lëkurën, idriti, si kuri ra dieli. La rrobat. Ede i mori rrobat i vajta më shtëni. Ede kishte vajtur ibiri mbret më përuan kur dia lante. Kur pa, chtë shohë, diel, ndritte. Aju, si pa, si ndritte diel, hiku, mpranë, ede unis e vajta te plakë. Si vajta, dha; «Un erda të më neapish të të bie për nuse». Ede ajo«a: «Skam chŭpë, eo kam një di.» Ede aju i dha: «Un e bën kabul, ch' kaj se është di.» Plakë ja da. Ibiri mbreti si ja mori për nŭse, dha vŭri nd odët. Si ja vuri nd’ òdët ede ajò dzhvèshe lëkurën; pastàj kur ndzèri lëkurën vajta djalë, ede djali tha: «Shumë ndrìt nd’ òdët.» I biri mbrèti i thà: «Èsht». I ftuan t’ uènë më një dàsmë. Translation:
There was an old man and an old woman who had neither a boy nor a girl. And they asked God. And God gave them a goat. One day the old woman was washing clothes, and as she was washing the old woman, she (the goat) asked her for her clothes to wash and said to her: "Put my clothes on your horns." Taking the clothes on her horns and going to the river to wash them, she threw the clothes on the ground and took off her skin. When she took off her skin, it shone as if the sun had struck it. She washed the clothes, took them and went home. But while she was washing at the river, the king's son had also come. When he saw that the sun had shone on the river, he returned, set out and went to the old woman. When he went, he said to her: "I have come to give me your granddaughter as a bride." She said to him: "I have no girl, but I have a goat." And he said to her: "I am satisfied, even if it is a goat." The old woman gave her to him. The Tsar's son, having taken her as his bride, took her into his room. Having taken her into the room, she took off her skin. Then, when she took off her skin, a child went and the child cried out: "It is very bright in the room." The Tsar's son, knowing, told him to be silent.
They were called to go to a wedding - the Tsar's son and the bride. When they started to walk, the bride took off her skin. When she took it off, it shone like the sun. They went to the wedding. They sat down, as they sat, and began to dance. When they began to dance, the bride began to cry: "Woe to the feet, woe to the head!" because her mother-in-law at home had burned the skin. The skin burned and the bride died. Then the Tsar's son returned home and, knowing that her mother-in-law had burned the skin, he caught her mother-in-law and killed her."
