Neo Geo
The closing notes on the discussion said we can feel free to complete the Neo Geo (brand) merge into SNK as we see fit. I think it's fine for you to go ahead and conduct that merge, and if someone reverts, then we can have more discussion about it. And by the way, if you put an email address in your account, you can do easy password resets instead of creating new accounts. TarkusABtalk/contrib 01:54, 27 February 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for the tip. And yeah I have managed to just do the merge. There actually wasn't very much to do, as I had prepared for it beforehand (the SNK article didn't have a 'Products' section anyway until I added it a few months back). Honestly I don't think it warrants a revert as, clearly, only one person had an objection to this part of the request and they also failed to elaborate and provide evidence when you asked - which I'm not surprised about. So if there's anyone out there who thinks different, at this point they will have to start a new discussion because we've had consensus for this change. Anyway thanks for your work, Neo Geo and SNK articles certainly look much better now than they were before. Skeeegt (talk) 13:19, 27 February 2025 (UTC)
Bare refs
Hi, thanks for adding references to Wikipedia, as you did at UMTS! However, using bare URLs is not ideal, and exposes references to link rot. It is preferable to use citation templates when citing sources, including details such as title, author, date, and any other information necessary for a bibliographic citation. Here's an example using {{cite web}}:
<ref>{{cite web |title=Download the Scanning Software - Windows and Mac |publisher=Canon Inc |work=Ask a Question |date=2022 |url=https://support.usa.canon.com/kb/index?page=content&id=ART174839 |access-date=2022-04-02}}</ref>.
which displays under References as:
- ^ Download the Scanning Software - Windows and Mac". Ask a Question. Canon Inc. 2022. Retrieved 2022-04-02.
If you've already added one or more bare URLs to an article, you can go back and replace them, and there are even tools available to expand them into full citations; try the reFill tool, which can resolve some bare references semi-automatically.
Again, thanks for contributing to Wikipedia. — W.andrea (talk) 00:42, 4 March 2025 (UTC)
