Bruce Taragin (born 1968) is an American venture capitalist and fund manager. He is the managing director of early-stage venture capital firm Blumberg Capital. He is also founder of Maccabee Ventures, a smaller venture capitalist fund around early-stage ventures. [1] [2]

Education

Taragin has a B.A. in finance and communications from Yeshiva University, and an MBA and J.D. from Fordham University.[3]

Career

Besides being Managing Director of Blumberg Capital, Taragin serves as an adjunct professor at Yeshiva University and Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs.[4] [5] He also co-founded and held several senior management positions with technology companies, such as serving as General Counsel at Charles River Computers.[3] He previously worked at the Israeli office of Hambrecht & Quist. [6]

He is a frequent participant and occasional moderator at panel events dealing with the future of Artificial Intelligence[citation needed] and Israeli entrepreneurship.[7]

Views

Taragin emphasizes the importance of proactive cybersecurity measures, especially for small businesses. In one article profiling him he was quoted as highlighting the growing risks posed by cyberattacks, advising companies to prioritize securing their systems and data, and encouraging a balance between automation and human oversight. Personal life

Taragin lives in Manhattan in a penthouse previously owned by Geraldo Rivera.[9] He also grew up in New York City. [10] He was previously based in the San Francisco Bay Area. [11]
