Andrey Livadny

Andrey Lvovich Livadny (Russian: Андрей Львович Ливадный, born May 27, 1969) is a Russian military science fiction writer.[1] His works were first published in 1998 and include several novels as well as a number of tales and short stories. He is best known for his book series The History of the Galaxy.

Early life

Livadny was born on May 27, 1969. He was an avid reader from a young age. But it was the Russian translation of Robert A. Heinlein's The Orphans of the Sky that decided his choice of future occupation and had a lasting impression on him. He wrote his first book at the age of eight.[2]

Career

In 1998, Livadny debuted with his published novella The Island of Hope. Since then, he has penned over 90 books that have enjoyed a total of 153 editions.

Livadny has created several series. He wrote The History of The Galaxy with humanity itself as a protagonist. The series is made up of sixty books, with a plot spanning from the 23rd to the 39th centuries. Plotlines prominently featured in the series include: Devastating Interstellar Wars, Contacts with Alien Races, and The Collapse and Rebirth of Civilizations. Morality is also central to many of the novels, especially those concerning Artificial Intelligence.

He has written two series in the LitRPG, The Neuro and Phantom Server.

Besides hard science fiction, Livadny also works in cyberpunk genres which allow him to focus on human relationships and raise questions about artificial intelligence and identity uploading, describing cyberspace as humanity's future environment.[3]
