File:British Airways Logo.svg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by JetBlast ( | contribs | uploads | upload log).

It seems that the image didn't qualify for fair use at all, at least in the United States, where they're very strict regarding the implementation of TOO in logos. While Threshold of originality is very low in the United Kingdom, there's not in case of the United States. In this logo, there's a gradient, in which in the case of the United States, is uncopyrightable. Additionally, this logo is using Mylius font, which seems more like standard font to me (also uncopyrightable in the US). So, IMO, this image should be relicensed at least as {{PD-ineligible-USonly}}. 103.111.102.118 (talk) 08:21, 13 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep as-is The logic in the above assertion is curious/confusing. Fair Use means that we recognize the copyright/other rights, but we need to use it anyway in order to accurately depict the subject at hand. While the gradient is questionably PD, I suppose, the fact remains that we will err on the side of treating it as copyrighted if there is any question. Buffs (talk) 19:33, 16 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • Relicense as PD-Ineligible-USOnly Based of registration record at US Copyright Office. So far, although British Airways registered much of copyright at USCO, none of them related to logos (see here). So, this file likely meets a criteria to be licensed as PD-USOnly at least. Simplified version of the Speedmark and standard wordmark (along with gradient) are uncopyrightable in the US because BA never registered that logo at USCO. Had BA registered that logo at USCO, this is more likely to be rejected due to its simple design. No mind regarding lower TOO in UK but if we only include the wordmark without Speedmark, it would far below UK TOO as well. 114.4.78.26 (talk) 01:17, 20 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
