Dude, nice job! I was doing a project on UNSOM II and kept running across a ton of references to it, so I dropped the stub in there. Thanks for adding all that, and for the Pakistani peacekeepers attack too. Not sure if I want to break out the civilian massacre a week later, or leave it in there. Thank you for adding citations for Israeli support in the Ogaden War! I couldn’t get the wikibox to stay together when I tried after adding Israel to it. PeacockShah (talk) 23:02, 9 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Some editing advice

Hi, it is often best to edit one section at a time, rather than several at once (as you have been doing at United Nations Operation in Somalia II). Not least because it makes it easier to spot and fix any reference errors which may have sneaked their way in. All the best, DuncanHill (talk) 22:40, 9 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the advice, I will take care to do so in the future. Whoopsawa (talk) 23:01, 9 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, and don't hesitate to ask for help if you do run into problems with referencing. DuncanHill (talk) 23:04, 9 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I saw your expansion of War in Somalia (2006–2009) and it's beautiful. I was originally intending to do it at a point, because it was a mess before, but now I see there is no need because it's actually brilliant now. Thank you. - presidentofyes, the super aussa man 00:08, 10 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Presidentofyes12 Your kind words are much appreciated, thank you. Still lots to be fixed up, but it's getting there. Whoopsawa (talk) 01:34, 10 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Staghound and other amazing pictures

Thank you for the amazing T17E1 Staghound picture!! Where did you find the original source document about the Somali government's activities in the 1960s? Is it in a library or archive somewhere? Buckshot06 (talk) 20:28, 1 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Buckshot06 Thanks for the kind words. Unfortunately the majority of the Somali gov books I find and scan from are taken off private sellers. This specific one was being sold off by some professor. Looking at Worldcat, it seems a few copies are available at university libraries as well. Worth looking to see if any are near you. https://search.worldcat.org/title/11710637 Whoopsawa (talk) 21:04, 1 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Super many thanks!! I have found one nearby. How many such books have you found, and are they all in the citations to the pictures? Buckshot06 (talk) 06:58, 2 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I've probably found a dozen or so at this point, but I have only uploaded from two Somali government books and they are both cited in their respective uploads. The 1982 war pictures are from the book Ethiopia's Invasion of Somalia, 1982-83 and as for the 1960s gov activities book I've only uploaded the Staghound image so far.
