In July 2021, Indian railways started upgrading the coaches of Rajdhani express to new Tejas coaches with enhanced features. These coaches are equipped with newer air suspensions, bio-toilets, Wi-Fi, fire alarms, CCTVs, reading lights, dedicated power sockets, automatic doors, passenger information system, improved interior and designed exterior.[1] The trains that are equipped with all new coaches are known as "Tejas Rajdhani" express. Indian Railways plans to introduce Tejas coaches across all Rajdhani trains in a phased manner.[2]

Indian Railways plans to introduce a new era of train travel experience with enhanced comfort with the conversion of Rajdhani Express coaches with new upgraded Tejas Trains. The introduction of this modern Tejas Sleeper type train for long distance journey is another paradigm shift by Indian Railways for enhancing the travel experience for the passengers.[3]

History

As per the research,[according to whom?] delicated Tejas-Rajdhani Express now[when?] has seven routes operating over India. The Indian Railways decided to perform a new express train related to Rajdhani, but somehow,[tone] the major trains run from Mumbai, Patna, etc. to Delhi, the capital city of India.

Rake

The Tejas Rajdhani Express rake is equipped with state-of-the-art[peacock prose] amenities to ensure a pleasant journey for its passengers. Trivia

There is no Rake Reversal, but there is only one train to change Loco from Agartala to Guwahati with WDP-4, WDP-4B and WDP-4D, and Guwahati to Anand Vihar Terminal with WAP-7 of Agartala Tejas Rajdhani Express.

Accidents and Incidents

  • On November 16, 2019, two coaches of the Tejas Rajdhani Express derailed near Kalyan in Maharashtra, but there were no casualties.
  • On January 13, 2020, the Tejas Rajdhani Express was delayed due to a brake binding issue near Vasai Road in Maharashtra.
  • On February 10, 2020, the Tejas Rajdhani Express was delayed due to a pantograph issue near Borivali in Maharashtra.
