Sudhir Uttamlal Mehta (born 1954) is an Indian billionaire businessman. Together with his brother, Samir Mehta, he operates Torrent Group, a conglomerate founded by their late father, U. N. Mehta, in 1959. As of December 2024, Sudhir and Samir Mehta's combined net worth was estimated at US$16.3 billion, ranking them 16th among India's richest individuals according to Forbes.[2][3]

Early life

Mehta was born in 1954 to a Gujarati Jain family.[4] He earned a bachelor’s degree from Gujarat University.[5]

Personal life

Mehta has two sons, Jinal and Varun. Jinal Mehta serves as a director of Torrent Power.[6]
