The Samsung Galaxy A56 5G is a mid-range Android-based smartphone in the Galaxy A series, introduced by Samsung Electronics on March 2, 2025[1][2] alongside Galaxy A36 5G. It is the successor to the Galaxy A55 5G, and it brings a range of upgrades in terms of design, performance, and camera capabilities.

Design

The Galaxy A56 5G offers a sleek, modern design with good focus on durability. The device features an aluminum frame with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+[3] on both the front and back. The device is IP67 rated, meaning it is water and dust resistant for upto 1 metres for 30 minutes in lab conditions. The Galaxy A56 5G is available in four colors:

Display

The phone features a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate with HDR10+ support. The screen has a peak brightness of 1200 nits (HBM) and 1900 nits (peak), ensuring visibility even in direct sunlight. It is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus+.

Processor

The Galaxy A56 5G is powered by the 4nm Exynos 1580 chipset, paired with 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. The device also supports 5G connectivity for fast internet speeds. However, it no longer supports expandable storage via microSD.

Camera

The device features a triple-camera setup on the back:

  • 12 MP, f/2.2, 123˚ (ultrawide), 1/3.06", 1.12µm

It can record videos upto 4K at 30FPS and 1080p at 60FPS at both rear and front.

The camera system on the Samsung Galaxy A56 uses advanced AI-driven features. These AI capabilities include enhanced subject detection in portrait mode, resulting in more refined bokeh effect in images. The AI suite of features also supports functions like Object Eraser, letting users edit photos with greater flexibility directly from the device.[4]

Battery

The Galaxy A56 5G is equipped with a 5000 mAh battery, which is an industry standard. The device is one of the first in the A series lineup that supports 45W fast charging along with Galaxy A36 5G, allowing it to charge 65% in 30 minutes and 100% in 1 hour 8 minutes[5].

Software

The Galaxy A56 5G runs on Android 15 with One UI 7.0. It is the first in A5x line which is promised to get up to 6 major software updates and 6 years of security patches.
