Frances Cowan is a perinatal neurologist. In 2018 she was awarded the James Spence Medal by the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health.
Education and career
Cowan undertook her medical training at the University of London with a MBBS and an MRCP. She then completed a Master of Epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, followed by a Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of London.[1] Cowan has a PhD from the University of Oslo.[2] She is Professor of Global Health at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine.[1][3][4]
Recognition
In 2018 Cowan was awarded the James Spence Medal by the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health "for her contribution to clinical and academic perinatal neurology".[2]
