"Death to Khamenei" is a Political Slogan in Iran which first shouted during the afterward protests of the Iranian presidential election in 2009.[1][2][3][4][5]
This phrase is used as a harsh slogan against the highest official of the Islamic Republic[6] to express dissatisfaction and opposition to the Ruling Regime in Iran, especially during protests, because protesters believe that Sayyid Ali Khamenei, as the Supreme leader of the Islamic Republic, is personally responsible for the deadly and violent confrontations with the Protesters.[7]
History
The slogan "Death to Khamenei" was first chanted during the 2009 protests[8] and was used repeatedly in subsequent protests.[9][10]
