At Wikipedia:Village_pump_(proposals)/Archive_172#Designating_current_seasons_in_infoboxes, I read clear consensus to use text rather than images to designate the current season. For WikiProjects that participate in rating articles, the banners for talk pages usually say something like:

There is a proposal to change the default wording on the banners to say "priority" instead of "importance". This could affect the template for your group. Hi all,

I’ve added a short paragraph to the “2017–present: Channel re-alignment and expansion” section in Sky Sports about the launch and removal of Sky Sports’ Sky Halo TikTok account in November 2025.

The addition summarises widely reported unbiased coverage from BBC News, CNN, The Guardian etc, all of which reported that the channel was taken down a few days after launch following criticism that some of the content was sexist. As this received significant press attention from multiple major outlets, it seems to meet Wikipedia’s standards for due weight and reliable sourcing.

I’ve kept the wording brief and unbiased, focusing only on verifiable facts and avoiding any misinterpretation. The paragraph is placed in the recent history section because this is where other organisational developments and controversies are already discussed.

Throughout the whole of 2026, Women in red is focusing on women in sport. This provides opportunities for creating biographies of notable women in a wide variety of sports, not forgetting those competing in the Winter Olympics and Paralypics early in the year. Hello. Just wanted to comment about a couple of related projects and a template with a built-in sports collage you might want to know about. No doubt you are already aware of the Wikipedia:Welcoming Committee, whose members welcome new users, often by placing one of the numerous welcome templates on their Talk page. Another related project, is that of the Growth Team, which is responsible for creating the Mentorship program, already active for a couple of years now, and which assigns newly registered users to an experienced Wikipedia editor who has signed up to mentor new users. These mentors often welcome their "mentees" on their Talk page.

The cross-product of all of this is the newly developed welcome template {{Welcome mentee}}, which offers links to one of a number of WikiProjects, including WikiProject Sports (and also other projects). As part of this effort, a sports collage has been created at Template:Welcome mentee/Sports, destined for transclusion in the {{Welcome mentee}} template, for those newly registered users who have demonstrated an interest in sports in their first few edits. (For an example welcome, see here.) But the point of this message, is that that collage might serve a purpose here: you could either just replicate it for your own purposes, or steal the code and alter it to suit your own purposes. Conversely, we welcome any members here who would like to welcome new members with a welcome template that places a collage of sports images, and an invitation to join the Sports WikiProject. The article Al Jaish Stadium has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Delete for lack of significant coverage. I did my own search as required, and found nothing but directories and only two hits on Google news. Tagged as Unreferenced for 12 years and for Notability concerns for 7 months.
