Help with an article
Hi hope you had a merry Christmas. I wanted to thank you for your help on Esme Francis. I was wondering if you could help me on another musical women in red article I translated Sabine Grofmeier. Thanks. Moondragon21 (talk) 04:07, 30 December 2025 (UTC
- Hi! I'm not sure why adding |archive-url= https://web.archive.org/web/20211228125254/https://www.konservatorium.org/dozenten/sabine-grofmeier|archive-date= 2021-12-28 to the first reference in the article isn't working, but that is the archived url for that url. I'm currently on vacation, so I'm not sure how much I can help out with this article before they try to delete it. If you or any of the editors in WiR have access to German-language newspapers or magazines, that could be a good place to look (I can't access them since they are behind paywalls). I'll fill out some more of her Wikidata item in the meantime. -Yupik (talk) 14:19, 30 December 2025 (UTC)
- BTW her Deezer profile shows more albums she has been part of. These could be added to the article. - Yupik (talk) 14:22, 30 December 2025 (UTC)

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. ✗plicit 14:08, 6 January 2026 (UTC)
- I have deleted it. It is linked to from Category:2026 novels, but for some reason that category is not showing as being in it. Take a look at the cat for 2025 to see how it should look. - Yupik (talk) 15:22, 6 January 2026 (UTC)

Hi! Please see Talk:Monica_Vikström-Jokela#…_is_a_Swedish-speaking_Finnish_television_script_writer_and_author. You're a native speaker and a very experienced Wikipedian. Is RfC a good idea? I've never done this and am not very experienced in WP:EN in general.
I'm also not interested in a discussion of "Finland-Swede" vs "Finland Swede", "Swedish-speaking Finn", etc. at this point. But I would like to focus on the field of literature, where the clearly established term is "Finland-Swedish literature". We must do everything to not blur this by inventing new terms without any reason. It would be against the main principles here to not use the established term, but rephrasing it and establishing variation.
If I interpret MOS:CONTEXTBIO correctly, we could use a link to the literary field instead of nationality. Thus, something like
… is a Finland-Swedish writer.
If the nationality is absolutely necessary perhaps
… is a Finland-Swedish writer, i.e. a Swedish-language writer from Finland.
The currently common description
… is a Finland-Swedish/Finnish Swedish/Swedo-Finnish/etc. writer
is against MOS:CONTEXTBIO in my opinion, because in the case of writers or other representatives of a literary field, the group-membership is less relevant. This can be described later in the biographical sections.
What do you think? --Rießler (talk) 16:29, 1 February 2026 (UTC)
