Edit summaries (and bits and pieces)

Dear fellow user UT,

i kindly appreciate your input in my talk page, but now for some additional thoughts. Do i feel ashamed of (many) of my edit summaries? Yes, greatly! From time to time, i seem to suffer from the (idiotic) condition that only my edits are good, and the great efforts of many a well established user are poor, or very poor, taking as example the case you already described (the reference fields, where i alter NOTHING from a visual standpoint!). You missed one or two date/accessdates in Fernando Martín (footballer), but to call that approach "very poor" was highly uncalled for. I again, and sincerely, apologise for that, a thing i often do whenever required, only to again fall victim to that (self-imposed?) behaviour.

Edit summaries again: and when confronted with vandalism? That is when i completely lose it, and my language escalates to dangerous levels (without actually using expletives)! WP is safe as long as users such as yourself (many others come to mind, such as the late User:Struway2, RIP!) are around (because you are productive and play by the wiki-book, whereas I am only the former, being a complete overall disgrace in the latter; i also have nice summaries, but that does not compensate one bit for the ones that are not).

Gerard Martín (footballer): could you not call this, at this point, vandalism (and, of course, more explosive edit summaries from yours truly therein)? I did something i have rarely done in 19+ years and used the article's talkpage; the subject's twin brother says they were born in Barcelona and is stunned that WP says otherwise, and IP(s, could be one person, could be more) keep changing it to Esplugues de Llobregat?! How can one AGF in cases like this? One can not, but of course there are ways of calling people out without exploding in the summaries like a drugged up banshee (i.e. using humour like you did here, highly appreciated by me https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wilson_Manaf%C3%A1&diff=prev&oldid=1320482675)! Also, know now that i think using a talkpage will do nothing where a person is deadset on destroying other people's work and/or having their preferred version remain, so maybe that is why i seldom use it.

Here's looking at us continuing to work together whenever it is required, cheers and sorry for any inconvenience again! RevampedEditor (talk) 11:01, 2 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

"whiff of AI"

Re: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Killing_of_Quentin_Deranque&diff=1339189367&oldid=1339187258

We are all having a hard time telling what is or isn't AI, but in this case you were wrong: that sentence was all the product of my non-native speaking biologic brain (as far as I can tell). Best regards, Maxlath (talk) 15:51, 19 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

It's not a choice of words that made me thing AI, but how AI produces follow-up sentences that make generalisations. "The numerous clashes between the two sides, in pubs, in the streets, have become a recurring event in the local city life" would need a citation by it. There was a citation before that sentence, and maybe there was something in there that resembled the events mentioned in that sentence, but I can't see it. All up to the paywall is talking only about far-right crimes, not any retaliation. Maybe the sources from Libération or Spain's ABC say more about the two sides, but all that I can freely see on the Rue 89 source are about far-right crimes and their impunity. Unknown Temptation (talk) 19:51, 19 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
