Radio Infobox Edits

Please be more careful when updating radio station inboxes. Each of the following edits in a twenty minute span has placed the articles in Category:Pages using infobox radio station with unknown parameters, containing parameter typos, incomplete wikification, or resulting in previously available info being hidden from the reader: [1], [2], [3], [4]. I would recommended using the "Show preview" button before publishing changes as doing so will show if there are any radio station infobox errors at the top of the page. -JPG-GR (talk) 16:14, 18 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

I should have checked the category before I went to bed @JPG-GR. That's on me. Sammi Brie (she/her · t · c) 18:06, 18 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Help with updating more Canadian radio stations

I saw you were updating radio stations the past few days and recently did for some Canadians stations. I'm doing the same and I know some of the Bell Media stations need to be updated, from the templates, to more citations, to updated and structuring the pages better. Could you continue to do that and I'll try to pitch it? OWaunTon (talk) 17:47, 23 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

@OWaunTon I've been focusing on infobox fixes:
  • Adding country field
  • Removing {{start date and age}} in favor of {{Start date}}
  • Fixing the parameter of convert on the Canadian stations to not use American spelling for "meters"
  • Removing bolded call sign acronyms
  • Occasional other fixes
Sammi Brie (she/her · t · c) 20:38, 23 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I see, but it seems like you're forgetting to add "ubl" for the numbers in the "ERP" parts of stations. OWaunTon (talk) 23:04, 23 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
@OWaunTon I'm not sure how to handle some of these extra ERP measurements. Honestly I don't think some of them should be there. So I'm leaving them alone deliberately. Sammi Brie (she/her · t · c) 23:06, 23 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed you have talked with them on their radio station edits. I have as well, but I don't think it's being heard. I think they have the potential to be a good editor, but I also think they are trying to add all the things and do too much. I don't know if there is a tutor program anymore (there was a long time ago), but I think they would benefit from that. Again, I think the potential is there, they just need guidance (I know neither of us are that guide). Just my two cents. - NeutralhomerTalk00:11, 7 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

@Neutralhomer They've been doing some good cleanup; I see Category:Pages using infobox radio station with no country steadily chipping down. But we have lots of complicated page moves. They require specific permissions and tools. In fact, we've had KQRA (FM) and KOSP (FM) at their wrong titles for months, thanks to the shutdown (though today the call sign swap application finally hit the FCC!). Sammi Brie (she/her · t · c) 00:36, 7 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. I'll take a look and see if I can help. Normally I called in Mlaffs for page moves, but I see he hasn't edited since May of last year (I hope he's doing OK). So, my page moving skills are not the greatest, but I'll see what I can do. Hope you are doing well. - NeutralhomerTalk01:47, 7 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

WikiCup 2026 March newsletter

The first round of the 2026 WikiCup ended on 26 February. As some of you may have noticed, good article nomination reviews now receive 10 points, an increase from 5 points in the previous year, as per a consensus at WT:CUP. This point increase has been retroactively applied to all good article reviews for which competitors have claimed points in this round. Peer reviews, which continue to be worth 5 points, are now listed in the same section as featured article candidate reviews, rather than with good article reviews. Everyone who competed in round 1 will advance to round 2 unless they have withdrawn or been banned. No other changes to the round-point system have been made for this year.

Round 1 was competitive. Three contestants scored more than 1,000 round points, and the top 16 contestants all scored more than 300 round points. The following competitors scored more than 800 round points:

The full scores for round 1 can be seen here. During this round, contestants have claimed 7 featured articles, 16 featured lists, 2 featured-topic articles, 168 good articles, 13 good-topic articles and more than 50 Did You Know articles. In addition, competitors have worked on 14 In the News articles, and they have conducted nearly 700 reviews. The tournament points table will be updated within the next few days.

Remember that any content promoted after 26 February but before the start of Round 2 can be claimed in Round 2. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, feel free to review one of the nominations listed on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove your name from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Hi Sammy Brie. Apologies for interrupting your day. I found your name on the GA mentors list and I have a question that I would appreciate an experienced editors' opinion on. I am reviewing Noah Monteiro as part of a GARC. He is a 16-year-old, with the article giving a very, very detailed description of what is predominantly a child's karting career although he has started competing in F4 in the last year. Is this okay for GA? I haven't seen a sports nomination for someone this young before and I haven't done a detailed source analysis yet but it looks pretty solid at first glance bar one or two. I just wanted to ask for a second opinion as the GA article for the 19-year-old Kimi Antonelli, covers his six year period of childhood karting in just two paragraphs (albeit he has achieved a lot more since). Thank you for any advice you can give. Canary757 (talk) 10:04, 9 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]
