ArbCom 2025 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2025 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 1 December 2025. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2025 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:31, 18 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I see you are active at the Teahouse, so I put you in as a featured host (see Wikipedia:Teahouse/Host/Featured/21). Feel free to customize the picture to your liking. Interstellarity (talk) 15:51, 2 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Extra shortcuts

What's your goal with this edit? Normally, if editors want to know all the shortcuts, they go to Special:WhatLinksHere, e.g, this search for redirects to that page. WhatamIdoing (talk) 22:51, 13 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

To restore what had been there without issue for years. A temporary account moved the shortcuts and the HTML comment to the RMTR page itself, and someone—too tired to search the edit history—removed the HTML comment. Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 03:34, 14 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Why should that HTML comment exist at all, on any page? WhatamIdoing (talk) 04:10, 14 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I am sorry for being a bit short about this. Perhaps I would have more patience with your inquiries in a better year. Few have reminded me more acutely than this one that life is short. An HTML comment is just not a priority for me. Do whatever you want with it. I'd like to fully enjoy the company of my friends and family instead of explaining to them that I'm on Wikipedia spending words and time disproportionate to the actual impact [on readers] of an HTML comment I wrote.
If you meant this as camaraderie-building small talk: please excuse my misinterpretation. I think the original comment was to prevent bloat in {{shortcut}}, to ask editors to avoid stuffing it with every shortcut under the sun there. It certainly stopped past me, but I am (hopefully) still humble enough that to remember that perhaps what is not obvious to me may indeed be blatant to everyone else (cue canned laughter at me, etc).
Was your question meant to be a didactic exercise, to prompt me to think twice before editing? I'm genuinely sorry and will be more thoughtful going forward. Thank you for being gentle with my unfamiliarity with the communication styles of high context cultures and in general for your patience and understanding. Not Quite Understanding

Why did you delete the puppy I left on Masterhatch's talk page. I don't really understand the reason it gave me in Notifications. Yooniik (talk) 12:16, 24 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

they didn't, they just fixed the formatting consarn (talck) (contirbuton s) 12:26, 24 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I just wanted to let you know that I saw your link on the RMTR did not work and fixed it, and then reverted again not knowing if you were going to be perfectly happy with it. If you are feel free to re-revert me again and if not I would like to apologize. Best, Squawk7700 (talk) 20:56, 19 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

No apologies needed. I appreciate your note on Special:Diff/1333800879. Let's just leave it alone for now. If you were curious: I use the post-move talk page name as a matter of habit. Some moves—such as pageswaps, multi-page moves, or retargeting of the resulting redirect—will break links to the discussion that use the pre-move talk page name. (It isn't the case here, so your edits are totally fine.) Using the post-move talk page name bypasses the redirect and avoids that problem. The permalink is more for the RM/TR clerks, so they can refer to my close. Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 22:04, 19 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
That actually makes a lot of sense thanks for the explanation, perhaps I'll need to pick that up as well. Kind regards, Squawk7700 (talk) 22:07, 19 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
As a tangent, any reason you're not still a page mover, given your activity in RMs and RMTR? HurricaneZetaC 15:14, 20 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. I believe having pagemover perms is not conducive to my personal goal of spending less time with RMs. Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 10:20, 21 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

(re Special:GoToComment/c-Joshua Jonathan-20260126172100-Huangdan2060-20260126134600) No problem. Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 18:55, 26 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Several redundant merge proposals should be merged into one

Wikipedia:Templates for discussion/Log/2026 January 23 has various preoposals for the merger of several presidential election templates into the mainstream election ones. They are mostly exact duplicates of each other, and I think a consolidation of the discussion might be in order. Glide08 (talk) 14:00, 28 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Eight years!

And what a strange eighth year it's been. Warm wishes to you in this year and hopefully for many to come! Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 03:17, 7 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Politics of Vietnam, a link pointing to the disambiguation page AFP was added.
