No Consensus on Article Hannah Ryder
I created this article and watched it nominated, reedited to suit the NPOV Notability policy,. but that was not enough for the closure to Keep . one of the discussant in the Relist discussions hammered on the article improvements. I am confused about this No Consensus closure and where it leaves the article? Gold Junior (talk) 05:28, 5 June 2024 (UTC) Gold Junior (talk) 06:10, 5 June 2024 (UTC)

Response to Decline Notice
Thank you for the detailed feedback on the draft titled Draft:Vaibhav_Palhade. I have carefully reviewed the comments and have made substantial revisions to address the concerns raised.
1. Enhanced Notability: I have added additional references that provide significant coverage of Vaibhav Palhade in published, reliable, secondary sources independent of the subject. These new sources better demonstrate his notability and impact.
2. Updated References: The references have been thoroughly reviewed and updated to ensure they meet Wikipedia's guidelines for reliability and independence. I have included sources that offer more in-depth coverage of his work and achievements.
3. Adhered to Guidelines: I have ensured that the draft aligns with the notability guidelines and other relevant Wikipedia policies.
I believe these changes address the issues raised in the previous review. Please consider the updated draft for resubmission. Thank you for your assistance and guidance.

Subject: Seeking Guidance on Writing About a Talented Software Engineer
Message:
Dear Maliner,
I hope you're doing well. I'm reaching out to seek your guidance on writing an article about a close friend of mine who is an exceptionally talented software engineer. He has made significant contributions in his field, and I want to highlight his achievements and skills effectively.
Could you please advise me on the best approach to structure the article? Specifically, I'm interested in understanding how to:
1 Start with an engaging introduction that captures his essence. 2 Highlight his key achievements and projects. 3 Convey his impact on the industry or community. 4 Balance technical details with readability for a broader audience.
Your insights would be greatly appreciated as I want to do justice to his talents through my writing.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Women in Green's October 2024 edit-a-thon

Hello Maliner:
WikiProject Women in Green is holding a month-long Good Article Edit-a-thon event in October 2024!
Running from October 1 to 31, 2024, WikiProject Women in Green (WiG) is hosting a Good Article (GA) edit-a-thon event with the theme Around the World in 31 Days! All experience levels welcome. Never worked on a GA project before? We'll teach you how to get started. Or maybe you're an old hand at GAs – we'd love to have you involved! Participants are invited to work on nominating and/or reviewing GA submissions related to women and women's works (e.g., books, films) during the event period. We hope to collectively cover article subjects from at least 31 countries (or broader international articles) by month's end. GA resources and one-on-one support will be provided by experienced GA editors, and participants will have the opportunity to earn a special WiG barnstar for their efforts.
We hope to see you there!

Question from Blue nutcracker (20:47, 27 September 2024)
Hi! Nice to meet you! I recently wrote this article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sae_Maeda and was wondering if you could take a look and help me improve it or provide some tips so I can improve my editing? Also, I posted this on the talk page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Sae_Maeda#Picture_needed I would really like to find a nice picture for the infobox as the page doesn't look very appealing without one. Edit: Do you have any tips for finding good images? I'm really struggling.
Also, a second page I recently created https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Mariko_Sasaki was moved to a draft space. I was using only one source at the time so looks like it was moved due to notability issues. I added more sources to the page and resubmitted it for publication, but I haven't heard back yet. I left a comment in the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Dance#Help_with_Draft:Mariko_Sasaki wikiproject of dance asking for tips, and have actually left a few comments there but it seems like the project doesn't have much activity, so I am not sure how to get someone to take a look at the page and maybe get it reviewed? Would you know of any other avenues? I also welcome any tips and suggestions for that page or my editing practices in general. Thanks for being my mentor! --Blue nutcracker (talk) 20:47, 27 September 2024 (UTC)
- @Blue nutcracker I have sent Sae Maeda to draft space as it lacks adequate sources. Maliner (talk) 14:29, 30 September 2024 (UTC)
- Perhaps it's because you're very busy, but my impression of our interaction so far is I came asking for questions and looking for guidance from my officially assigned mentor, and in return I got no answers or guidance on any of my questions and instead my article I worked so hard on was moved to draft space, and now I have no idea what's wrong with the sources or how to fix them to get my article republished again. It's pretty discouraging :( Blue nutcracker (talk) 16:13, 30 September 2024 (UTC)
- @Blue nutcracker I see nearly all of your articles were sent to draft space because they were not meeting our policy of WP:N. Please go through it and make appropriate changes for your drafts. Your aspersion is clearly baseless here, as I have provided you with the detailed response both in my move summaries and on your talk page. You are my mentee; that does not mean that I will accept your substandard articles. I will suggest you take some time to read our basic policies before creating mainspace articles. Please use WP:AFC next time. Also, don't forget to check Help: Your first article. Good luck! Maliner (talk) 16:38, 30 September 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you and I sincerely apologize. I let my frustration get the best of me. Just the fact that you're taking the time out of your day to respond is something I should learn to appreciate. Also, I didn't see your move summaries which may contain all the information I was looking for. They must be in the page history somewhere, I will go check it out and also all of the references you provided which are plenty and I need to just buckle down and read and not be lazy about it if I expect to produce good quality articles. From now on I will use the articles for creation process, I wasn't aware it existed which is why I just published the article like that. I'll also be sure to leave you a query here in case you'd like to provide some more feedback. Thanks again and I hope my momentary frustration didn't ruin your day. I will do better. Pinky promise! Blue nutcracker (talk) 16:49, 30 September 2024 (UTC)
- Replying to your queries raised on your talk, You have cited interviews and the sources lacking Sigcov about the subject. Interviews do not count for notability. Other than this you have cited this online shop which fails WP:RS. Maliner (talk) 16:51, 30 September 2024 (UTC)
- @Blue nutcracker No worries. Thanks for understanding. Maliner (talk) 16:52, 30 September 2024 (UTC)
- Oh hey I had some questions about this btw. The online shop you mentioned is actually the website of the british Royal Ballet, which is Sae's dance company. I thought that her workplace would be a reliable source to report on her career. It isn't? Regarding the interviews, I had no idea that they don't count for notability. That's very useful info. Is it that the dancers need to have some sort of biopic or biography written about them for it to count for notability? Or is it that the interviews are not significantly covering her career and so they don't count for notability? I was planning on creating wikipedia articles for some first soloists in the royal ballet that i'm interested in. I assumed that they're notable because they usually have titular roles in famous ballet performances and are a step away from becoming principal dancers, and have usually earned several prizes and achievements already. But I could be wrong that this is notable enough for wikipedia? Blue nutcracker (talk) 15:03, 4 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Blue nutcracker Notable websites do not mean that they will be
reliable in context
. In this particular case, this online shop is not reliable as it is not written by an established subject matter expert as far as I can see. Even if you consider it reliable, it will be primary with reference to the subject as she is connected with it. So it will not be counted towards notability. If you want to understand notability properly, please go through the above links I have mentioned. Good luck! Maliner (talk) 16:06, 5 October 2024 (UTC)

Administrator Elections: Call for Candidates
Administrator Elections | Call for Candidates
The administrator elections process has officially started! Interested editors are encouraged to self-nominate or arrange to be nominated by reviewing the instructions at Wikipedia:Administrator elections/October 2024/Call for candidates.
Here is the schedule:
- October 8–14 - Candidate sign-up (we are here)
- October 22–24 - Discussion phase
- October 25–31 - SecurePoll voting phase
Please note the following:
- The requirements to run are identical to RFA—a prospective candidate must be extended confirmed.
- Prospective candidates are advised to become familar with the community's expectations of adminstrators, which are much higher than the minimum requirement of having extended confirmed status. This includes reviewing successful and unsuccessful RFAs, reading the essay Wikipedia:Advice for RfA candidates, and possibly requesting an optional poll on their chances of passing.
- The process will have a one week call for candidates phase, a one week pause to set up SecurePoll, a three-day period of public discussion, followed by 7 days of no public discussion and a private vote using SecurePoll.
- The outcomes of this process are identical to making requests for adminship. There is no official difference between an administrator appointed through RFA or administrator elections.
- Administrator elections are also a valid means of regaining adminship for de-sysopped editors.
Ask any questions about the process at the talk page. A separate user talk message will be sent to official candidates with additional information about the process.
To avoid sending too many messages, this will be the last mass message sent about administrator elections. If you are interested in the process, please make sure to watchlist the appropriate pages. A watchlist notice will be added when the discussion phase opens, and again when the voting phase opens.

Notice of noticeboard discussion
There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrative action review regarding an action which you performed. Thank you. Hyphenation Expert (talk) 01:38, 18 October 2024 (UTC)
- Morning Maliner... I hope you're well. Just a note that I have closed the above admin action review and there was a consensus to overturn your decision to move Tamara (given name) to Tamara (name), and that your decision not to grant a revert when asked to do so by Hyphenation Expert was incorrect. Looking at the thread at [1], it is fairly clear that you should have honoured HE's request to revert the page to the long-term stable title (it was at that title from 2011 all the way through to October 2024, so there's no case for a reversion back to the pre-2011 title under our usual definition of stable titles). HE explained this situation fairly clearly at the linked thread too and your reply "I just reverted your preferred version because it was without a discussion" seems to miss the point that it was the October 2024 move by Rosguill that required the discussion, not the revert by HE. So going forward, a polite reminder for you to review the article history carefully when a request is made at RM/TR, and ensure that where there's controversy we favour the stable title rather than a recent bold move. Those who want to make the move are always free to start an RM (which perhaps they will in this instance) but it really muddies the water if an RM is started from a title that isn't the stable one. Anyway, hopefully this draws a line under the matter and we can all move on! Cheers and happy editing. — Amakuru (talk) 12:35, 28 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Amakuru Thanks for the heads up. I have discussed this issue privately with another admin, and thanks to them, as they helped me to understand the situation properly. I think Extraordinary Writ's explanation was correct, and it was the mistake on my part. I will try to be more careful in the future. Happy editing. - Maliner (talk) 18:25, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
Administrator Elections: Discussion phase
The discussion phase of the October 2024 administrator elections is officially open. As a reminder, the schedule of the election is:
- October 22–24 - Discussion phase
- October 25–31 - SecurePoll voting phase
- November 1–? - Scrutineering phase
During October 22–24, we will be in the discussion phase. The candidate subpages will open to questions and comments from everyone, in the same style as a request for adminship. You may discuss the candidates at Wikipedia:Administrator elections/October 2024/Discussion phase.
On October 25, we will start the voting phase. The candidate subpages will close again to public questions and discussion, and everyone will have a week to use the SecurePoll software to vote, which uses a secret ballot. You can see who voted, but not who they voted for. Please note that the vote tallies cannot be made public until after voting has ended and as such, it will not be possible for you to see an individual candidate's tally during the election. The suffrage requirements are different from those at RFA.
Once voting concludes, we will begin the scrutineering phase, which will last for an indeterminate amount of time, perhaps a week or two. Once everything is certified, the results will be posted on the main election page. In order to be granted adminship, a candidate must have received at least 70.0% support, calculated as Support / (Support + Oppose). As this is a vote and not a consensus, there are no bureaucrat discussions ("crat chats").
Any questions or issues can be asked on the election talk page. Thank you for your participation. Happy electing.

Administrator Elections: Voting phase
The voting phase of the October 2024 administrator elections has started and continues until 23:59 31st October 2024 UTC. You can participate in the voting phase at Wikipedia:Administrator elections/October 2024/Voting phase.
As a reminder, the schedule of the election is:
- October 25–31 - SecurePoll voting phase
- November 1–? - Scrutineering phase
In the voting phase, the candidate subpages will close to public questions and discussion, and everyone who qualifies for a vote will have a week to use the SecurePoll software to vote, which uses a secret ballot.

Question from Coffeeandkittens25 (00:43, 7 November 2024)
Thank you very much for offering to mentor newcomers. I've been trying to work on a first article, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Ven-A-Care but I'm not really sure how to fix it. I got some advice, but it was pretty confusing and I think I've followed most of it. What do you suggest I do for next steps to improve this article? --Coffeeandkittens25 (talk) 00:43, 7 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Coffeeandkittens25 I think SafariScribe will be the best person to provide you the detailed response, as they have reviewed it. Maliner (talk) 08:28, 7 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Coffeeandkittens25, your draft may be notable but it requires independent coverage from multiple reliable sources. I mean sources that talks about the pharmacy industry alone. All I could see are sources about a court case that they won. The key notability guideline we use is called WP:NORG. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 09:29, 7 November 2024 (UTC)
- I think there has been a misunderstanding here. While the organization was at one point a pharmacy, their noteworthiness primarily comes from their history of successful legal whistleblowing on pharma fraud, as documented in many sources including CNBC. They are historically important due to being an early outsider whistleblower and because of the scope of their success. My understanding is they left the pharmacy business 20 or more years ago and have been professional whistleblowers ever since. Do you have suggestions on how I can make this more clear? - the point is relevant to the fact that people are! and it is highly controversial. its not that i want to promote the fact, the fact just is a fact. a controversial fact about people manufacturing an already controversial drug. i suppose that section about people going on vacation just to purchase the drug is not relevant as-well. people in America are DIY producing this medical drug to bypass exorbitant pricing. its relevant. bordline vandalism. did you even investigate the source that is linked. amazing! Hello Maliner, you just declined my article because it was in french, Wikipedia is multilingual, why deny an article in french when its more likely to be read by french speakers in Africa? Kamer11 (talk) 15:25, 2 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Kamer11: First, all articles in Wikipedia must be in English; it doesn't matter who you think is going to read them. You've created the same article on fr.wiki, so if French speakers want to read the article, they can do so there, although I doubt the article will remain very long. Second, your draft here was just deleted per WP:G11.--Bbb23 (talk) 16:16, 2 December 2024 (UTC)

Question from Dr. Peper, PhD (03:34, 12 February 2025)
Hello, I have a relatively simple question about infoboxes. I want to know when to include what information in a public figure's infobox. I have been updating the infoboxes of public figures- mostly scientists. I have noticed that the information in someone's infobox is not always standard. For example, a person's military service is not always included. The authors Walter Miller and Robert Heinlein had very important military experiences that influenced their later work. I feel like their military service should be included in the infobox. Additionally, there is an academic researcher whose page I edited who achieved a significant military rank and awards- although he is most known for other things, I feel his military information belongs in the infobox.
Are there guidelines on what determines what belongs in an infobox? Or does it all come down to best judgment of the page author(s)? I don't want to step on anyone's toes or violate rules. --Dr. Peper, PhD (talk) 03:34, 12 February 2025 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) @Dr. Peper, PhD Hi there. No, as long as the information you want to add to the infobox is already being discussed in the article's body, you can add it to the infobox. Wikipedia is a work-in-progress and many articles aren't entirely complete, so, when you find one that needs an information on the infobox and the information is already discussed in the body, then you are free to add it to the infobox. Hope this helps. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 10:39, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
Question from KSz at OWPTM (18:20, 14 February 2025)
Hi, In the past, I have had the opportunity to translate excerpts from articles using WIKI-integrated translator support. Now this feature is reserved for advanced editors. Recently, I dealt with Jan Zarzycki (scientist) and wanted to provide his biography in Polish and English. I did it, but it looks like I edited 2 articles: one is a translation of the other. This makes one of them reproducible-but as if it were a translation, it would be okay, I guess.
I also have trouble recognizing that the person I have chosen may have a biography on Wikipedia. Is a lot of data in Wikidata a sufficient premise?@EALCCJJ Thank you in advance KSz at OWPTM (talk) 18:20, 14 February 2025 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) @KSz at OWPTM No, a lot of data in Wikidata is not a sufficient premise. In fact, that does not influence (at least) English Wikipedia at all. When you choose someone, say another scientist, try looking up for the person's name on Special:Search, if there's no article for the person, you will likely see something like The page "PAGENAME" does not exist. If the person happens to be a scientist, please check the inclusion criteria for academics generally and see if the person is able to meet at least one of them, if they do, go ahead, otherwise, seek advice. Hope this helps. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 10:47, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for your explanation. I have new article: Draft:Jan Zarzycki, but Ldm1954 has said that it is not appropriate. Could you have a look at this bio? Thanks in advance. KSz at OWPTM (talk) 19:44, 20 May 2025 (UTC)

- My answer is very detailed but I suppose that it will be not enough for readers from coutries with other organization and regulation of accademic life.
- According to WP:NPROF he fulfills at least the following criteria:
- The person's research has had a significant impact in their scholarly discipline, broadly construed, as demonstrated by independent reliable sources.
- The person has received a highly prestigious academic award or honor at a national or international level.
- Both above criteria based on procedure of profesorship by Polish authority. He has been recognized both for his research achievements and in the training of his staff (at least 2 supervision of PhD students) with the highest recognition, which is the title of professor granted by the President of Poland after a very detailed review.
- 3. The person has been an elected member of a highly selective and prestigious scholarly society or association
- and
- 7. The person has had a substantial impact outside academia in their academic capacity.
- He was th secretary of Wrocławskie Towarzystwo Naukowe. The Society was founded before World War II in Lviv.
- 4. The person's academic work has made a significant impact in the area of higher education, affecting a substantial number of academic institutions.
- He was a faculty member of at least third universities.
- 6. The person has held a highest-level elected or appointed administrative post at a major academic institution or major academic society.
- He was elected as Dean of Electronic Faculty of Wrocław University of Science and Technology.
- Thanks for understanding. KSz at OWPTM (talk) 08:37, 21 May 2025 (UTC)

Question from Wildu Hawa (06:27, 26 February 2025)
Hi! How do I change the name of a page? This page should be named Eva Hornung, not Eva Sallis, and the Eva Sallis should just link to the Eva Hornung, not the other way round. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eva_Sallis Thank you so much --Wildu Hawa (talk) 06:27, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) @Wildu Hawa The subject is most commonly known as Eva Sallis. Please see WP:COMMONNAME to know what "commonly known" means in English Wikipedia's context. Eva Hornung currently correctly links to Eva Sallis, so, I do not see a problem here. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 10:53, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for engaging with this. I am new, and learning how WP works, so forgive me if some of this is not useable. I have a COI, in that I am the subject. Reasons for change: author published under Eva Sallis until 2008. All works under that name are out of print. Major works of career postdate that (and their major awards) are under Eva Hornung (birth name). The author is not most commonly known as ES, since all reviews worldwide have been under Eva Hornung since 2008. Austlit database has Eva Hornung as primary author name.

Question from Simeonrussell (14:15, 26 February 2025)
Hi, I recently viewed the page on fascism and noticed that I’m unable to add topics for discussion. I’ve seen serious debate over whether fascism is a right- or left-wing ideology. The reality is that both the extreme left and extreme right can exhibit fascist tendencies. Labeling the article as favoring one side over the other politicizes the topic and hinders meaningful discourse.
Could you please advise on how I can request changes to ensure a more balanced and accurate representation? I believe leaving it as it is poses a risk to objective discussion.
Thank you for your time. --Simeonrussell (talk) 14:15, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) @Simeonrussell Hi there. By simply opening a discussion thread at the article's talk page, you can initiate a discussion on whatever you think the problem is. If you're unable to add topics for discussion, it is most likely because your account is new and the article is controversial. Please ask for help at the Tea house is the issue persists. Hi Maliner,
I’m new to Wikipedia editing and could use some guidance on updating a page for Charles R. Hamilton. I’ve been attempting to revise the page, but some edits have been reverted, and I want to make sure I’m following the correct approach. If it helps, I can share the revisions I’ve been working on so you can review them and ensure they’re phrased and written properly according to Wikipedia’s standards.
I appreciate any assistance you can provide!

Hi Maliner, excited to finally be making and editing posts - I used to use Wikia for pages on video games, but Wikipedia is of course a big level up.
I am a history graduate (and current MA student) so am committed to proper referencing -- but with my current draft am struggling with formatting the info properly.
Also I made my page on an artist where I linked in examples of their work linking their own personal website - does that breach any rules? There's no info on there I simply link in the projects to show them.
Let me know. Look forward to hearing from you! And thank you for you help!

Hello! I'm keen to contribute to Wikipedia from time to time, I want to ask about the appropriate format of edits - in this article + passage: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Swindon_Town_F.C.#1991%E2%80%9399:_The_yoyo_years one line says "...this record is yet to be broken" when at the current moment it has been broken, and this can be backed up with a source. Is it best (on an article specific to one football club) to update this passage by removing this line altogether, or saying that it has since been broken, or providing the information about when exactly it was broken, or extending that to saying what team broke the record, and when?
Sorry for the long and specific question, I just want to get things right :) --RaggedDan (talk) 22:15, 13 May 2025 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) @RaggedDan Hello there. Thank you for being keen to contribute to Wikipedia. Question from HAZPUNK (08:15, 8 June 2025)
Would an article about intentional/emulated realtime image compression (such as faking jpeg DCT for aesthetic purposes) be notable enough for its own article? I feel like wikipedia could be a gateway for more popularity on the subject and therefore more accessible ways for emulation of jpeg compression.
If it is not notable enough, would any of the following meet wikipedia’s notability requirements? - intentional Image compression in art - data moshing (last i checked this had a subsection in an article but I don't remember having its own) - y2k era internet aesthetics - (list of) y2k era internet aesthetics - Glitch art in GLSL - Glitch art in video games
As you might be able to tell, I am quite interested in y2k aesthetics at the moment.

Hello, I would like to request AfC reviewer rights. I have been actively contributing to Wikipedia and am familiar with key content policies such as notability, verifiability, reliable sourcing, and neutral point of view. I have experience engaging with draft reviews, editing articles to meet encyclopedic standards, and helping newer editors understand Wikipedia’s expectations.
I am particularly interested in helping reduce the AfC backlog and supporting content improvement efforts. I believe I can contribute responsibly to the Articles for Creation process.

Administrator Elections | Call for Candidates
The administrator elections process has officially started! Interested editors are encouraged to self-nominate or arrange to be nominated by reviewing the instructions at Wikipedia:Administrator elections/July 2025/Candidates.
Here is the schedule:
- July 9–15 - Call for candidates
- July 18–22 - Discussion phase
- July 23–29 - SecurePoll voting phase
Please note the following:
- The requirements to run are identical to RFA—a prospective candidate must be extended confirmed.
- Prospective candidates are advised to become familiar with the community's expectations of administrators, which are much higher than the minimum requirement of having extended confirmed status. This includes reviewing successful and unsuccessful RFAs, reading the essay Wikipedia:Advice for RfA candidates, and possibly requesting an optional poll on their chances of passing.
- The process will have a seven day call for candidates phase, a two day pause, a five day discussion phase, and a seven day private vote using SecurePoll. Discussion and questions are only allowed on the candidate pages during the discussion phase.
- The outcome of this process is identical to making a request for adminship. There is no official difference between an administrator appointed through RFA versus administrator elections.
- Administrator elections are also a valid means of regaining adminship for de-sysopped editors.
Ask any questions about the process at the talk page. A separate user talk message will be sent to official candidates with additional information about the process.
If you are interested in the process, please make sure to watchlist the appropriate pages. A watchlist notice will be added when the discussion phase opens, and again when the voting phase opens.

Administrator Elections | Discussion phase
The discussion phase of the July 2025 administrator elections is officially open. As a reminder, the schedule of the election is:
- July 18–22 - Discussion phase (we are here)
- July 23–29 - SecurePoll voting phase
- July 30–c. Aug 3 - Scrutineering phase
We are currently in the discussion phase. The candidate subpages are open to questions and comments from everyone, in the same style as a request for adminship. You may discuss the candidates at Wikipedia:Administrator elections/July 2025/Discussion phase.
On July 23, we will start the voting phase. The candidate subpages will close again to public questions and discussion, and everyone will have a week to use the SecurePoll software to vote, which uses a secret ballot. You can see who voted, but not who they voted for. Please note that the vote totals cannot be made public until after voting has ended and as such, it will not be possible for you to see an individual candidate's totals during the election. You must be extended confirmed to vote.
Once voting concludes, we will begin the scrutineering phase, which will last approximately four days, or perhaps a little longer. Once everything is certified, the results will be posted on the results page (you may want to watchlist this page) and transcluded to the main election page. In order to be granted adminship, a candidate must have received at least 70.0% support, calculated as Support / (Support + Oppose), and must also have received a minimum of 20 support votes. Because this is a vote and not a consensus, there are no bureaucrat discussions ("crat chats").
Any questions or issues can be asked on the election talk page. Thank you for your participation. Happy electing.

- @User:Jeraxmoira. Actually, User:Taabii is the sockpuppet of User:Syed amjad08, whereas Jannatulbaqi is of User:Sahilrazvii999. And this block by Moneytrees of mine is a part of the game plan by this team of spammers. Actually a couple of administrators are also helping this group of UPEs. This is a serious case and should be elevated to Arbcom. I have some private evidence, which I can send to you if you are interested. Maliner (talk) 22:31, 26 August 2025 (UTC)
- I cannot act on the evidence, so it is better to send it to arbcom-enwikimedia.org. Jeraxmoira🐉 (talk) 05:29, 27 August 2025 (UTC)
- @Moneytrees
- How can you block a long-standing good-faith editor as a sockpuppet of a random account with just a single edit overlap? I often use public networks, so most probably there might be some edit overlap with others. I have helped many administrators and checkusers, including User:Rosguill, User:PhilKnight, User:HJ Mitchell earlier with the UPEs and other SPI. Can you please explain why you are helping these sockpuppets? Especially when the checkuser findings are crystal clear that both Taabii and Jannatulbaqi are block-evading sockpuppets. I can disclose the evidence here if anyone wants to listen. Maliner (talk) 22:42, 26 August 2025 (UTC)

- Maliner, someone wouldn't get checkuser blocked over a single edit of overlap. There is both technical and behavioral evidence which supports this block. Just because you're in conflict with other socks/spammers doesn’t mean you (or them) get a pass. That said, if you have any (real) evidence of socking/UPE, please provide it (ideally to the conflict of interest VRT.
- What are you talking about with "
Actually a couple of administrators are also helping this group of UPEs.
"? That sounds rather serious, are you talking about the English Wikipedia? That seems highly unlikely; if true, please contact Arbcom with the related evidence. What do you mean by "Especially when the checkuser findings are crystal clear that both Taabii and Jannatulbaqi are block-evading sockpuppets
"? You aren't a CU, so you wouldn't know anything about that? Moneytrees🏝️(Talk) 02:19, 27 August 2025 (UTC)- Hello Moneytrees, is there additional context available in past discussions onwiki, or if not, can you provide additional details so as to provide at least an outline for the rest of us in lieu of the full picture, or failing that, perhaps it would provide us comfort to know your conclusions are shared by another trusted user with whom you can share the full picture? I suppose Maliner could always file an appeal to make that happen but in my experience, once a block settles, admins tend to provide overwhelming benefit of the doubt to the blocker and little to none to the blockee. Aside from this having come out of the blue at least for me, I am a bit confused by the fact that the block reason alludes to technical logs whereas your explanatory note concedes the possibility of meatbotting instead which suggests more of a behavioral finding than technical. The existence of both would suggest a more complex web than what I could find from Dove's account which only led me to one sock and in total a handful of overlaps, only one of which looks like evidence. The existence of behavioral evidence you mention in your follow-up comment as well, which I would assume are documentable onwiki; at least they are most of the time. Perhaps they should be. Regards! — Usedtobecool ☎️ 04:20, 27 August 2025 (UTC)
- @Usedtobecool and @Thilsebatti et al, as Dbeef says, checkuser isn't as black and white as it seems. CU can still indicate MEATSOCK relationships between accounts; for example, accounts could be on same ip ranges and/or otherwise geolocate within close proximity of each other. I really wish I could just paste in what I'm referring to it terms of technical overlap, but I can't... To be clear, a connection between Maliner and Dove's talk has been investigated by several different checkusers since early 2024. A CU even laid out evidence relating to it at the end of last year but left action to someone else; if I had seen it at the time, I would've blocked. I'm blocking now due in part to just seeing that evidence, and because of an apparent inter-spammer/UPE conflict Maliner is involved in with regards to the editors at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Taabii (which I am planning on getting to within the next few days). Spammers frequently snitch on each other; my response is to just block them all and try and remove any sort of stragglers. There's further concern in that Maliner has seemingly spent a good amount of time working towards advanced permissions; especially at the beginning of 2024, it appeared Maliner was attempting to collect hats and cozying up to potential admins and other "power editors", which spurred initial CU interest in them.
- Regardless, there is quite a bit of overlap between Maliner and Dove's talk and associated spammers, both in public and privately. Aside from topic area, they've also spent a lot of time pursuing editors they believe to be associated with the Chenab Times; a good deal of that is offwiki, but Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Muhammad Faizullah is an example. There's also Maliner's editing of Qadri Shattari, something Dove's talk spent time promoting; Dove's talk repeatedly attempted to re add/spam blacklisted links to qadrishattari.xyz. Aside from this, as Maliner alludes to above, they've gotten to know and subsequently fallen out with other spammers/UPEs. A further odd example of this is their overlap with Okoslavia and Wajimo, where Maliner worked with them to recreate and get a spammy BLP to mainspace (see page logs 1 2 3; this is all about the same subject, which Maliner made several edits to). Okoslavia appears to be a different editor who went on to have some sort of big falling out with Maliner, I would guess over some job that went bad or something (stuff related to this is private evidence unfortunately).
- ...Then, take that into consideration with the first edit Maliner made to Asjad Raza Khan, and look at all the socks in that article's history... There's more public and private evidence that contributed to this block, but I think that should give a better idea of why I did this. There's simply too many coincidences in private and public to not suspect Maliner of being related to Dove's talk; personally, some sort of meat connection seems very likely to me. Moneytrees🏝️(Talk) 22:43, 27 August 2025 (UTC)
- Ridiculous. So you meant to say that the entire check user team was sleeping for the past two years and granted multiple advanced permissions to a meat puppet, including the highly trusted IP block exemption (which is given after a CU check, and I have been granted the prestigious IP block exemption by two different check users who have more experience than you both in terms of seniority and edit counts). The fact is that the evidence was vague enough that it was not sufficient to make a block; otherwise, it could have already been done. The fact is that, now after two years, you have been hired by this team of UPEs to block me;
this can be easily noticed by a layman with your biasedness that you are not blocking the clear-cut case of socking as pointed out by multiple advanced permission holders at WP:SPI/Taabi and blocking the long-standing user just because you are worried about your team
. You might have forgotten that UPEs can't stick around for very long on enwiki. In my journey of these three years, I have even seen bureaucrats getting ripped off from their posts. I hope my talk page is monitored by many editors, and many editors are already reading this thread, and for the time being I am leaving this to the community to decide until I am on my Wikipedia vacation for my steps, as I trust that my steps are much more important than those connected Indian spammers and a couple of CUs/admins in their team supporting them in their UPEs. I trust that there are different volunteers on English Wikipedia who will monitor your malpractice in my absence, and I hope the cumulative evidence will make the difference. Need not to worry, I will try to make my peace with ArbCom. Period. Maliner (talk) 01:00, 28 August 2025 (UTC)- Regarding "you have been hired" and several other aspersions: WP:AGF, WP:NPA, etc. Judging by what you and others have written in this thread, I get the impression that you are WP:NOTHERE to help build a neutral encyclopedia, but instead you are trying to push certain viewpoints, and to this end you are willing to game the system. As far as I can tell, the block by Moneytrees was a reasonable decision. — Chrisahn (talk) 08:28, 28 August 2025 (UTC)
- Moneytrees, Only one thing (Chenab Times) rings a bell for me, so I will need time to go over the evidence but over a skim, this looks more than I could have asked for and I thank you for taking the time; I know first hand this is tedious work. I would like to clarify that I was not asked here. I happened to be passing through this week and commented because UPE/sock-hunting is risky work, and my fear when doing it was always, for lack of eloquence, getting disappeared without anyone noticing, based on lies or fabrication. I almost hesitated because of how it might appear, as I have full confidence in Moneytrees' integrity, dilligence and skill, but ultimately decided it would be complacent and dangerous to put anyone above question, especially those we have the highest trust for. — Usedtobecool ☎️ 03:18, 28 August 2025 (UTC)
- No problems @Usedtobecool-- as you say it's something that should have some more scrutiny in case innocent editors are wrongly blocked. Like you said, there's a weird sort of "web" between all the competing editors/firms/socks here, and it's taken a while to untangle... Moneytrees🏝️(Talk) 04:19, 28 August 2025 (UTC)

- Hello Moneytrees, is there additional context available in past discussions onwiki, or if not, can you provide additional details so as to provide at least an outline for the rest of us in lieu of the full picture, or failing that, perhaps it would provide us comfort to know your conclusions are shared by another trusted user with whom you can share the full picture?
- Hello there Moneytrees, you are actually one of the admins I respect so much, mostly because of your CCI work, etc. I do have some questions out of curiosity. This isn't clear for editors who do not have access to cuwiki. I for sure understand that data from CU isn't supposed to be shared to a non-CU, but there was no SPI or something. That, coupled with the fact that, you said you either are User:Dove's talk, or know them offwiki (emphasis mine); are checkuser blocks really made when there's uncertainty in the check? I mean, this is what I read the note above as, either, or makes it look like the result from CU wasn't clear. Permit me to also echo that I think CUs are usually done in order to prevent or reduce potential or actual disruption, or to investigate credible, legitimate concerns of bad faith editing, then I looked further and saw that Maliner's last edit before 26 August was 11 March, that's literally over 6 months ago, I did not see any of those signs I just quoted.
- All these led to my confusion, and I would love for this whole thing to be revisited and clarified. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 08:32, 27 August 2025 (UTC)
- Hello Moneytrees, I’m trying to better understand Maliner’s block. You mentioned in the block summary that “You either are Dove, or know them off-wiki and have proxied/collaborated with them.” If this was a CU-based block, I was wondering why WP:MEATSOCK was also brought up in the explanation. Does this mean there was some private or non-CU evidence considered in addition to the technical findings? I was also going through Maliner’s contributions in AfC, AFD and NPP, and I couldn’t really find anything that suggested involvement in UPE or socking. Their last edit before the block was several months ago. Like Usedtobecool and Vanderwaalforces, I’m a bit confused and would appreciate any clarification you are able to provide (within CU policy limits, of course). Thilsebatti (talk) 10:16, 27 August 2025 (UTC)
- Withholding evidence about UPE editors and trying to bargain for an unblock with it doesn’t do much to show good faith. Jeraxmoira🐉 (talk) 10:24, 27 August 2025 (UTC)
- Hi all, I'm not Moneytrees and although CU evidence is probably stored somewhere I do not have the energy to look them up at the moment. I hope I can still clarify.
- CU actions are not always made entirely based on technical info. There are times where technical info is enough to justify a block because of suspicious behavior/links to other accounts. Those blocks can be made while reviewing the behavioral evidence at the same time. In this case, both alternatives (as indicated by Moneytrees' comment above) are blockable. Either Maliner is evading a block (which needs to be appealed) or has inappropriately coordinated with a blocked user.
- On the other note, I think it is much better for Maliner to clarify their relationship with Dove's talk themselves instead of asking people to do random commentary which isn't very helpful for the communication here. dbeef [talk] 13:26, 27 August 2025 (UTC)
- Dbeef, you don't have to like it but it's not random commentary, though it has become repetitive as everyone has the same set of questions, and I am disappointed that you would suggest it is. On an unrelated note, the reply button doesn't follow your signature as it does everyone else's, at least for me. Best, Usedtobecool ☎️ 03:33, 28 August 2025 (UTC)
- To be clear @Vanderwaalforces, it's not really "uncertainty", it's more I'm certain that evidence supports either of these things being true, and either is a blockable offense. Moneytrees🏝️(Talk) 22:46, 27 August 2025 (UTC)
- @Dbeef @Jeraxmoira @Moneytrees @Thilsebatti @Usedtobecool @Vanderwaalforces Sorry, but Pinging all to share something, as Maliner said that I'm sock of a blocked user Syed amjad08. Here I'm pasting mails by Maliner, which they sent me. Pls have a look at, I can forward the mail to any of you. The first mail goes like:
- 'Greetings Tabii,
- I hope you are doing well. I am very much impressed by your work and want to congratulate you for it. I think you should start with recent changes patrolling and try to grab the rollbacker and pending changes reviewer rights to enter into the administration of Wikipedia, then slowly with your CSD and XFD log, try to grab new page reviewer rights and page mover rights. But before the new page reviewer and page move rights, first focus on recent changes patrolling to get rollbacker and pending changes reviewer rights; this will increase your confidence and level of trust in the community to you. Once you have those rights, please ping me; I will guide you furthermore.
- Regards,
- Mal
- I replied
- You're welcome, Maliner!
- Yes I'm well, Thank you and hope you're doing well. I'm shocked that an established user like you, is impressed by my contributions. This really made my day.
- I believe that it will take most of my free time. Plus, I spend my free time here on Wikipedia and Wikidata as I'm a bookish person. I read much in Persian and Arabic and use my laptop during the breaks in my classes. Up to now, I edited articles from WP:INNEW and New Pages Feed. Is Recent Changes Patrolling different from these, where I'm active?
- Regards
- Maliner's second mail goes like:
- Yes, from recent pages patrolling I mean vandalism revert on Wikipedia. You can use redwarn and twinkle for it. It is just my suggestion to help you to bring in Wikipedia administrations because we need more Sunni editors like Syed Amjad Hussain, here in English Wikipedia for doing something great. Good luck!
- Regards,
- Anyone can understand the by saying Syed Amjad Hussain, Maliner meant Syed amjad08. When I searched this name on google, I got that Hussain seems to be an author or writer from Bihar, India with a focus on Sufism. Sufism is a subject in which I'm also interested (including 70-80% of Indian Muslims) but this does not prove that I'm a sock. Also, Sufis of Indian are known as Barelwi or Sunni. Also, as Moneytress noted Maliner is connected with Qadri Shattari, I found some articles written by Syed Amjad Hussain on the spam website of QS, see these, Firdausi Silsila, Zafaruddin Bihari, Sharfuddin Yahya Maneri. (I'm unable to paste the link as it is a .xyz website).
- I can forward all the mails to anyone interested in the case, taking me into someone's sock which whom Maliner themself is connected, is not good. I never edited unconstructively. Hope for the best, admins and CUs knows well. Thanks. Taabii (talk) 07:19, 28 August 2025 (UTC)

- For bookkeeping purposes, a courtesy ping to the two SPI clerks with whom I had interacted earlier, User:MarioGom and User:Tamzin, in case if they want to add anything if they're still active and dealing with SPI. Maliner (talk) 02:02, 28 August 2025 (UTC)
- Comment - given that this whole saga is based on evidence that most of us have no access to, it seems like the endless run of discussion and speculation here is not especially helpful. @Maliner if indeed you're innocent, as you say you are, then I hope that your off-the-record discussions with Arbcom, MoneyTrees and any others looking into this will be sufficient enough to exonerate you. However, for the time being those of us not involved in that discussion have to assume that MoneyTrees has done their work correctly and that this block is a legitimate one. As hard as it is for us to accept that a seemingly productive editor is in fact a banned sock, it would hardly be the first time - Eostrix and Lourdes are prominent names that spring to mind. But either way, continuing the discussion at this publicly accessible talk page seems counterproductive. Cheers — Amakuru (talk) 08:50, 28 August 2025 (UTC)
