(edit conflict) Not a bot issue; I implemented the outcome of that discussion by telling the bot to delete it, and then undeleting it manually and restoring the subcats once this is done. Thanks for the explanation, but when a bot appears to do a wrong edit, I'm always politely notifying the bot owner, as per WP:BOTISSUE, not chasing a admin via an obscure notice.
