Your submission at Articles for creation: Daniel-Ryan Spaulding (September 11)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by S0091 was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
Interviews, what he says or has written are primary sources so cannot be used to establish notability. The Culture Fix is a weak source because they are a freelance site and there's no named author. The Berliner I would count toward notability but need a couple more reputable sources that have covered him in some depth. S0091 (talk) 19:31, 11 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Your submission at Articles for creation: Tracy Schorn (September 11)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reasons left by S0091 were:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
This submission does not appear to be written in the formal tone expected of an encyclopedia article. Entries should be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources. Please rewrite your submission in a more encyclopedic format. Please make sure to avoid peacock terms that promote the subject.
The comment the reviewer left was:
In Her World, Getting Cheated On Makes You a ‘Chump’ is mostly based on what she says, Everyone’s Breaking Up, but Nobody’s Bitter: What’s Going On? is a quote as is the Toronto Star and The New Yorker is a brief mention. There's mention of criticism in one of the NYT pieces but those sources are not included and there's only a brief mention in the draft's content.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Welcome to Wikipedia, and appreciation

Hello. I responded to a comment you made on WT:WIR and a few other editors pointed out that I might have been somewhat harsh, especially given you were a new editor. I took a look and - you are a new editor, of only three months! And yet - you've done absolutely amazing work in those three months, multiple well written articles, and even getting blocked! (Which may not seem like a desirable achievement, but is certainly an achievement! Especially in surviving it, and continuing to do good work!) Anyway, I would like to show a bit of appreciation for that excellent work, by way of welcome.

  • I found and uploaded a free-licensed image for Laura Vanderkam and cropped it; if you believe the uncropped one would be better, please do use that one.

Anyway, the image is good, hope you like that one, and even more so hope you keep up the great work writing. Thank you. --GRuban (talk) 01:01, 6 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@GRuban Many thanks for your kind words and all your help. The actor playing Nelson Rodker didn't sound Scottish, though of course that doesn't mean a thing. Introduction to contentious topics

You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Additionally, you must be logged-in, have 500 edits and an account age of 30 days, and are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on a page within this topic.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Hi Allthemilescombined1 -- You asked for feedback at WiR on this; not sure what aspect you are concerned about? Some quick off-the-cuff thoughts... The subject looks notable to me under WP:AUTHOR but you probably could make this more obvious for a reviewer (whether in AfC or NPP) by linking the book reviews more clearly. I'd divide it slightly differently, esp moving hospital executive into the earlier section -- the Career is best focused on the wiki-notable career as an author, not on other aspects. I'd also take hospital exec out of the lead. Generally op eds in newspapers don't contribute (much) to notability, and can put reviewers off a bit. (It's a common promotional gambit to list tonnes of these.) I'd slim these down to a few of the most prominent examples. The word "speaker" is also loaded with promotional overtones for reviewers and you might like to remove this from the lead too. List the books that have multiple reviews in the lead with dates of publication and co-author. Hope this helps! Good luck! Espresso Addict (talk) 04:15, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

As an aside you do realise that it's completely ok to just move your creations to mainspace yourself? (Obligatory caveat: As long as you are not being paid to write them.) NPP can be harsh but it's generally a lot quicker than AfC. Cheers, Espresso Addict (talk) 04:20, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
And another one... I notice you are the editor who created Carol A. Carter -- I meant to thank the creating edit on that one, but hit the wrong line in the history. Anyway, thanks!, I read it with interest (used to work in the field of HIV). Glad you ignored the unhelpful comment at Teahouse on Carter's notability. Espresso Addict (talk) 04:25, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! I think I'm an approval junkie. I want to make sure everything I move to mainspace is up to standards. But also there's an aspect of "look mom, I made this picture! Oh honey, it's so great!" (In Bossypants, Tina Fey makes her first picture in kindergarten, expecting praise like she gets at home, and the boy next to her rips it in half). I'll work on this latest draft with your comments in mind. Side point - you know who else has a beautiful smile, besides Carol A. Carter? Carol Ann Carter! With cool art stuff in the background. Allthemilescombined1 (talk) 12:01, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I think you have to run with Silence Equals Approval here or you go mad; there's so much bad content that needs fixing, people often neglect to praise the enormous effort that goes into creating decent content. Keep up the good work! Cheers, Espresso Addict (talk) 02:50, 5 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
And, oh, now I see what you mean on Carol Ann Carter; pity we can't get that image into the article -- I do think bios especially are greatly enhanced by an image but there are so rarely free ones to be had. Espresso Addict (talk) 02:55, 5 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Recent edits

Here are recent diffs of your additions that fail WP:DUE, WP:WEIGHT, WP:NPOV and WP:RELEVANCE being reverted by various editors: [1], [2], [3], [4] and so on. Instead of addressing these reverts, you have re-added similar content in the same and other articles. Please stop doing this, as it is disruptive editing. If you want a particular piece of content added to a page, and it is challenged, seek consensus for it in talk. You have already been notified about this area being a WP:CTOP, so I won't repeat the earlier warning, but please keep this in mind when editing in future. Hi, I posted two separate requests on the talk page and pinged you. Hearing no response after a couple of days, and with no discussion for several days after my edits, I re-added the content. I would appreciate if you would start a discussion on talk before reverting my edits without any discussion, or ping me so I can discuss with you. I look forward to discussing the material, since we still haven't. Allthemilescombined1 (talk) 11:37, 2 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I did not receive a ping for either of these - I believe a ping only happens after an edit (as seems to have happened on those two talk page threads) if you create a new line (WP:PINGFIX). I'll answer on the talk page, but the tl;dr is that neither piece of information has anything to do with the article, which is not about Palestinian views or antisemitic incidents. Sheryl Sandberg

I reverted your edit to Sheryl Sandberg. Your edit may very well have been correct, but isn't supported as far as I can see in the article. If you have a reliable source indicating specifically that Sandberg is an activist against antisemitism (as per WP:BLP, WP:NOR, WP:RS), feel free to add back your properly cited claim. --Yamla (talk) 23:21, 2 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Calling on Jewish leaders to unify against the rising tide of antisemitism, she urged them to stand resilient and to take action in combating misinformation and bias within educational institutions and society.[1] Allthemilescombined1 (talk) 00:44, 3 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The article already describes her work producing a documentary of antisemitic sexual crimes. Allthemilescombined1 (talk) 00:46, 3 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Producing a documentary would not be sufficient; see WP:NOR. Similarly, the article from jpost doesn't describe her as an activist against anti-semitism, though it would certainly be sufficient to indicate she is concerned about rising antisemitism, stnads against antisemitism, etc. etc. The key point is, we can only claim what is directly supported by reliable sources, not come to our own conclusions about what that means. --Yamla (talk) 01:49, 3 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

2025 Update from Women in Green

Hello Allthemilescombined1:

2024 has wrapped up, and what a full year it was for WikiProject Women in Green! Over the past year, we hosted two edit-a-thons, one themed around women's history and another on women around the world. We also managed to achieve most of our 2024 annual goals, nominating 75 articles for GA, reviewing 64 GA nominations, nominating 8 articles for FAC, peer reviewing 3 articles and reviewing 10 FAC nominations. Excellent work, and thank you to everyone involved!

For 2025 we have a new set of goals for nominations and reviews. In particular, we would like to see more articles on our Hot 100 list being improved and nominated for GA this year. If you take a look at the list and see an article you are interested in contributing to, feel free to add it and yourself to our Hot 100 project discussion. You might even find someone interested in collaborating with you!

This year, as with every year, we hope you will join us in helping improve our coverage of women and women's works on this encyclopedia. Every contribution helps. We'll see you around!

Thank you for uploading File:October H8TE poster.jpg. However, it is currently missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.

Please take a look at my latest comment to you question about this file at WP:MCQ#File:October H8TE poster.jpg. This almost certainly needs to be treated as non-free content unless you're somehow claiming to be the poster's copyright holder or have obtained the copyright holder's WP:CONSENT. -- Marchjuly (talk) 21:44, 27 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Marchjuly Thank you for your help and patience. I added Licensing and Non-free use rationale. Please let me know if it needs further improvement. Allthemilescombined1 (talk) 22:50, 27 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I did some minor cleanup, but it should otherwise be fine. One thing, though, is that the poster you uploaded and the one red one found on the film's official website are different. In many cases, multiple posters are created for a film the production company to enhance the promotion of the file and even possible to increase merchandizing opportunities, but it's better to upload the poster officially used by theaters for Wikipedia's purposes. -- Marchjuly (talk) 00:47, 28 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
That makes sense, thanks. Allthemilescombined1 (talk) 00:57, 28 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You need to stop adding unsourced material to articles on terrorism serious BLP violations

No where in the Kavanagh assassination article does it mention terrorism.

Mangione hasn't been convicted.

These are, as the section heading says, serious BLP violations. I don't want to but if you do this again I'll have to consider a topic ban. Doug Weller talk 13:48, 11 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Prosecutors have also declared that because his crime "was a felony that involved, or was intended to promote, a federal crime of terrorism," he is eligible to face terrorism-related punishment enhancements.[5] Allthemilescombined1 (talk) 14:16, 11 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
MANGIONE is charged in a New York State Supreme Court indictment with one count of Murder in the First Degree, in furtherance of terrorism; two counts of Murder in the Second Degree, one of which is charged as killing as an act of terrorism[6] Allthemilescombined1 (talk) 14:18, 11 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I'll add these refs. Allthemilescombined1 (talk) 14:18, 11 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Non-encyclopedic content

hi @Allthemilescombined1, I noticed on your user page that you highlight many fun edits that you have made in mostly BLPs. After reviewing these edits I was surprised as many (but not all!) seem clearly trivial and/or non-encyclopedic and should be deleted per (at least) WP:NOTDIARY.

Some of these have already been reverted by other users - Nora Ephron edit: reversion, James Blunt edit: reversion

On your user page you actually note a few other examples where other "cute" edits were reverted by a single user - [7], [8], [9]

Meanwhile there are a few clear cases of trivial and non-encylopedic content that have yet to be reverted, especially the sexuality-related part of this Mario Cantone edit. But I think there are also issues with - just as a few examples - [10] and parts of [11].

While making other changes to the Woodpecker article I removed this anecdote as I am more comfortable making changes to zoology related articles. I left your edits to the BLPs as is although I will probably revert the Mario Cantone one, I'll leave the rest up to you to decide what to do with.

I don't want to take your joy away and I hope that you can keep making fun edits that are due/encyclopedic - like your Awkwafina edits, and several others that you highlight on your talk page! But just hoping you can make sure that your edits are truly encyclopedic going forward, especially as they relate to BLPs - thanks :) NicheSports (talk) 04:00, 24 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Antisemitism in social work moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to Antisemitism in social work. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because This is a mess. It contains refbombs and the single example it lists is not antisemitism as far as I can tell. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Polygnotus (talk) 00:18, 5 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

A word of caution

You've had other people warn you before about editing in BLP spaces - so none of this should be particularly surprising - but Wikipedia does have particularly high standards in sourcing in BLPs. I'm a bit concerned about some of your edits on Zohran Mamdani. You have repeatedly tried to insert pejorative claims into the article including here where you suggested that Mamdani (a non-white person) was somehow "whiter" than Hakim Jeffries [12] and instances of inserting the antisemitism pejorative [13] [14]. Furthermore your argumentation about CAIR and the ADL borders on WP:NOTFORUM. I would suggest you need to exercise greater caution when editing articles about BLPs. Topic ban

By the consensus of the Wikipedia community, you have been topic-banned from the Arab-Israeli conflict, broadly construed. Details on how to appeal this topic ban can be found here; note that in most cases editing productively and without controversy for at least six months on other topics is considered best practice before appealing. - The Bushranger One ping only 23:54, 29 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Next time you make claims about another editor's conduct, on a noticeboard, like you did at Special:Permalink/1303734914#TBAN appeal (and request to re-open Close Challenge). You need to leave them a message on their talk page. Also, you should make yourself aware of WP:FORUMSHOP. If you continue with this behaviour I will seek to have you indefinitely banned. TarnishedPathtalk 01:24, 2 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@ScottishFinnishRadish During the appeal, I requested a mentor to help me avoid making the same mistakes after the TBan is lifted. Allthemilescombined1 (talk) 09:33, 16 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I would like to start that process of learning now, with someone who is uninvolved in the topic space. Allthemilescombined1 (talk) 09:34, 16 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I believe this would help me understand where I went wrong better, so I can improve. Allthemilescombined1 (talk) 09:35, 16 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Women in Green's 9th Edit-a-thon

Hello Allthemilescombined1:

WikiProject Women in Green is holding a month-long Good Article Editathon event in October 2025!

Running from October 1 to 31, 2025, WikiProject Women in Green (WiG) is hosting a Good Article (GA) editathon event with the theme What Women Do! All experience levels welcome. Never worked on a GA project before? We'll teach you how to get started. Or maybe you're an old hand at GAs – we'd love to have you involved! Participants are invited to work on nominating and/or reviewing GA submissions related to women and women's works (e.g., books, films) during the event period. We hope to collectively cover article subjects from at least 31 different occupations or professions (or broader roles in society) by month's end. GA resources and one-on-one support will be provided by experienced GA editors, and participants will have the opportunity to earn a special WiG barnstar for their efforts.

We hope to see you there!

Mentorship

I see you've been seeking mentorship after getting topic-banned. Speaking from the position of someone who was previously topic-banned and who successfully appealed that ban, I might be able to mentor you. First, what do you want out of mentorship, and second, what kinds of areas do you aim to edit in? 🐔 Chicdat  Bawk to me! 20:28, 19 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Chicdat Thanks for your offer. I would like to understand how my behavior led to my I/P topic ban; maybe that would help me regain my enthusiasm for editing wikipedia. Allthemilescombined1 (talk) 01:09, 21 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
First of all, I don't believe you were ever topic banned from the Israeli–Palestinian conflict per se; the ANI discussion found that [b]y the consensus of the Wikipedia community, Allthemilescombined1 is topic-banned from the Arab-Israeli conflict, broadly construed. I will give you my answer to your question soon once I wade through the background to it. From a look at your recent contributions, it seems like you enjoy creating articles; this is a good sign and probably one of the reasons why you avoided a site ban. Have you considered trying to expand one of those articles or similar to good article status? In addition to being a very satisfying activity, it might persuade editors that you can be a net positive in these areas. For instance, I see that in an article that you have edited, Yiddish theatre, I see that most of the references need to be converted to shortened footnotes, and that many paragraphs are unreferenced. Would you be interested in trying to improve that article? 🐔 Chicdat  Bawk to me! 12:52, 22 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for these suggestions. There is an article I moved to mainspace, which was moved back to draft by another editor, and I do have hopes to expand it. I'm not super interested in Yiddish theatre - I had just read one item that interested me. I do want to help where I am needed, though I admit formatting is not my favorite area. Allthemilescombined1 (talk) 18:17, 22 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hmmm. That seems like an article that could definitely be expanded, but modern-day antisemitism is getting dangerously close to areas that could fall under your topic ban. If you want to improve that article, you'd have to be careful with the text that you add, and the presence of that material related to Israel probably makes the article fall under the topic ban. This is probably why your best bet is to edit somewhere that is as far away from the Arab–Israeli conflict as you can get. 🐔 Chicdat  Bawk to me! 11:46, 23 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 2 weeks for violations of your topic ban on the Arab-Israeli Conflict, as you did here. Topic bans apply to ALL pages on Wikipedia. You are not allowed to comment on the conflict, in any way, shape, or form, on any page on Wikipedia, barring to appeal your topic ban (which you previously did, and had the appeal denied). Be advised that multiple editors in that appeal discussion regarded your existing topic ban as too lenient; further violations may well lead to more restrictive sanctions being applied.. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
If you believe that there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  The Bushranger One ping only 20:18, 7 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Notice

The article Dina Strachan has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

not notable enough for a wiki

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This is an automated notification. Please refer to the page's history for further information. DatBot (talk) 00:30, 15 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Topic ban violation, again

This is a violation of your topic ban. Your topic ban is broadly construed. Linking a reference that explictly calls out the Arab-Iraeli Conflict is a violation of your topic ban from the Arab-Israeli Conflict, and this is far too close to outright requesting proxy editing to avoid your topic ban. You are blocked from editing Wikipedia for one month. Once the block expires, completely avoid anything remotely resembling the Arab-Israeli Conflict as the next violation of your topic ban will almost certainly result in an indefinite block. - The Bushranger One ping only 21:31, 27 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Happy New Year from WikiProject Medicine. Last year was tumultuous, with large language models competing for readers’ attention. These models often sound authoritative despite frequent hallucinations. One of the goals of the Vital Signs 2026 campaign is to ensure that our top-importance articles are understandable, as this is one of the six B-class criteria they should meet.

Women in Green reviewing drive

Hello Allthemilescombined1:

This month, February 2026, WikiProject Women in Green is participating in the February 2026 GAN Backlog Drive, in which we're aiming to review as many outstanding Good Article (GA) nominations about women and women's works as possible. If you want to help out, you can check out the project talk page for a list of nominations in need of review (including some WiG originals). If you haven't reviewed a GA nomination before, be sure to check out the reviewing instructions and guidelines and feel free to ask for a mentor to check your work.

We are also working together with a wikithon hosted on 5 February by Wikimedia UK, which will focus on writing and improving articles about women involved in sustainable development. If you want to join the event, feel free to sign up at the eventbrite page; or if you would be interested in providing a 20-minute assessment and/or a full GA review of the submitted articles in the weeks following, put your name down on the project talk page for updates as the event progresses.

We hope to see you there!
