Changing “Social” to “Cultural” in regards to Conservatism

I find “Social conservatism” to be an inaccurate portrayal of the PPC, as they don't have as strong opinions about things like Gay Marriage, Abortions, etc.. . They are more so culturally conservative as they significantly bring up the topics of Culture, Immigration, Nationalism and such. Social conservatism is more inclined towards Religious beliefs, where as the PPC is more inclined towards Cultural beliefs. 199.119.235.171 (talk) 17:16, 6 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Your original analysis is skewed. What do you think the "social" in "social conservatism" means? And of course, regardless of their advocacy of a "national debate on abortion", the PPC does have a firm position on the matter, as stated on their website:
"A People's Party government will ... introduce the Protection of Preborn Children Act to bring Canada in line with the laws of other civilized countries, where abortion is gradually restricted after the first trimester and late-term abortions are prohibited except in exceptional circumstances."
It is true that Bernier said the PPC wouldn't touch social issues at the onset of the party, but the PPC has updated its platform several times since.
Also, while the PPC doesn't have an official position on gay marriage, it does oppose "gender ideology" and advocate the revocation of transgender rights and recognition in Canada. Yue🌙 21:10, 13 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
