Name article
Hello,
I propose renaming the article from "Lagi (Bini song)" to "Lagi (song)" because this is the only article about a song titled Lagi. Since there are no other songs or articles with the same title, including the artist’s name is unnecessary. This would make the title simpler and follow Wikipedia’s naming guidelines.
I tried to rename the article myself but wasn’t able to. If someone could assist with this, I would appreciate it.
Thank you.

- If you want to propose renaming the article, you can request a move or move it yourself if there are no expected disputes, since any autoconfirmed user can do it.
- That said, I think it's a good idea to seek consensus before making the change, just to avoid any potential concerns (or I'm just overreacting relative to this situation). Personally, I support moving the article to Lagi (song) since it's the only song article that bears the name. AstrooKai (Talk) 05:17, 13 December 2024 (UTC)
- I support it. Honestly, I don't think anyone would oppose it, so just go for it. Giving the page the "(Bini song)" title was definitely just an oversight on my part. Sorry! Bloomagiliw (talk) 11:10, 13 December 2024 (UTC)
- Hi again! I want to notify you all that the target Lagi (song) is currently a redirect to Skusta Clee following an AfD back in 2022 that resulted to merge. If you guys want to push this article be moved to that title, then a deeper discussion is needed to generate consensus on whether this article should be moved over the redirect. Bini, a Filipino pop girl group, dabbled in different genres before returning to the bubblegum pop and electropop sound of "Lagi"
— It would be good to have some examples here. What older works had the bubblegum pop and electropop style they revisited on this song, and what genres did they experiment with in the interim? It followed the non-album single "Pit A Pat",[3] as well as the final single from their debut album Born to Win, "Na Na Na", their official cover of The Itchyworms song "Kabataang Pinoy" with SB19, and their collaboration with BGYO, "Up!"
— I don't believe it is particularly useful to mention preceding works without specifying how the production/response to these affected this track.- Sources checked: [1], [2], [4], [5], [8]
- For transparency: I've used Google Translate for all foreign language sources, so I apologize in advance in case of mistakes in my interpretations of the sources.
- [1] (Philippine Daily Inquirer interview): where is the information about the genres? Parcinq ([13]) does mention this, but it does not seem as though the members themselves do in this interview.
- [3] (Album of the Year): AotY is user-generated and therefore unreliable
- [4] (NME): this is used to source the inclusion of the song's original version on Feel Good, but I don't see any mention of the album in the article
- [8] (ABS-CBN News): I can see the Rexona collaboration, but not anything about the remake or music video
- Composition and lyrics
- If the audio sample is of the final chorus as discussed in the reception section, I would clarify this in the caption.
- Please add AORG Studio to the studio= parameter of the infobox
- This section is rather short and more information about the composition (e.g., genre) is covered above. I would merge the paragraph here into Background and release, with the lyrics added onto the first paragraph and credits as its own paragraph at the end
- Sources checked: [9], [10], [11], [12]
- [12] (Billboard):
singing in joy for their new lover
- from what I see, the source does not appear to specify 'new'
- [12] (Billboard):
- Reception
The Bini members' vocal performances in "Lagi" garnered praise from critics and fans alike
- the reception from fans (unless significant to the commercial response, e.g. a dance trend or alike) does not pass for due weight and should be removed.- The second paragraph here discusses the creative impact the song had for the group; it is interesting, but should be below commercial performance for chronology
Mallorca later quoted Lai Frances, a Filipino-American journalist and moderator for the KCON LA panel [...]
- I'm a little confused by this. Who is Mallorca? She seems to be the writer of the cited article, but not mentioning her full name or publication makes it seem like a member of the band due to how it follows the previous sentence. But since Mallorca is just quoting someone else, I don't think she needs to be mentioned at all. There also seems to be some context missing. Lai Frances is a panelist for a music convention where the band appeared. This brings in a neutrality question, but if they are a journalist with good credentials it may be acceptable. I would rework the text here to better clarify this journalist's relation with the festival, and the festival's relation to the band.In 2024, following the group's exponential growth in popularity
- is there a specific reason for this spike in popularity? If this information can't be found that is not a problem, but if the growth was the result of a later song/album/concert it would be good to mention for further context.- Please add mention of the Awit Award nominations to this section
- Sources checked: [13], [14], [2], [1], [16]
- [1] (PDI interview) - Same problem as above: I can't seem to find the mention of bubblegum pop
- Music video
- Sources checked: [9], [13], [20]
- Live performances
Bini performed "Lagi" as the opening act during the 2024 celebration of Philippine Independence Day
- change to 'a 2024 celebration'. To show the notability of the event, it might be interesting to open with 'Following a speech by president Bongbong Marcos, Bini performed [...]'At the Grand Biniverse in November 2024, Bini performed a brand-new R&B arrangement
- I would remove 'brand-new' here since the source does not support it- Sources checked: [10], [21], [22], [24]
- Accolades, charts
- The 'Category' field of the accolades should not be centered
- Sources checked: [19], [17], [27]
- Lead and infobox
- As I've commented above, please add studio to the infobox
- English title in infobox should be in quotation marks
It was the group's third solo single of 2022, following the non-album single "Pit A Pat". It was also the first single from their 2022 sophomore album Feel Good.
- is being their third solo single of 2022 really significant? I would rearrange this to: " Star Music released it on June 24, 2022, as the first single from their 2022 debut album Feel Good"- The key personnel members should be in the first paragraph and not in their own. The mention of certain people, such as recording engineers and synth performance probably should not be in the lead.
- The cover art — and also the image in the music video section — require alt texts for accessibility.
The 2022 romantic comedy film An Inconvenient Love and 2024 romantic comedy series What's Wrong with Secretary Kim featured "Lagi" in their soundtrack
- since the main point is the song's inclusion, this sentence should be flipped: "Lagi has been included on the soundtracks to [...]"

Those are my initial comments. I will do a second read-through and fix any miscellaneous points or minor prose issues when the comments above are addressed. Copyvio scan returns 23.1% ("Violation unlikely"); most similarity is coming from quotes.IanTEB (talk) 22:29, 22 May 2025 (UTC)
- @IanTEB: This appears to be a drive-by GAN by nominator Royiswariii, who does not appear to have made significant edits to the article prior to this, and there is no discussion about nominating the article on its talk page. As per WP:GAN/I#N1, a reviewer may uncontroversially consider the GAN a drive-by nomination. Nineteen Ninety-Four guy (talk) 05:13, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
- @Nineteen Ninety-Four guy: The user had previous significant contributions to articles concerning the group so I assumed the same applied here; I sincerely apologize. @Royiswariii: I will fail this article for now. Please feel free to leave a message on my talk page so I can start the review again if you discuss with other significant contributors and address the comments above. GAN
The previous GAN for this article was closed because the nominator, @Royiswariii, was not a significant contributor and failed to consult the significant contributor(s) prior to submitting the nomination. As such, it was regarded as a drive-by nomination.
That said, I believe the article still has strong potential for a successful GAN. @Bloomagiliw, since you are the article’s significant contributor (with at least 70% of the content authored by you), would you consider renominating it? Alternatively, if you prefer, you could coordinate with Royiswariii and give your approval for them to proceed with a new nomination.
Before moving forward, I would personally recommend addressing the comments raised by @IanTEB during the first GAN review to help streamline the next nomination process.
There’s no deadline for this, so feel free to move forward at your convenience. AstrooKai (Talk) 16:35, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
- Sure. I'll tweak it and apply those GAN suggestions before re-nominating. I'd like to put my best foot forward before another GAN. Bloomagiliw (talk) 18:26, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
Help with IP vandal
@AstrooKai @Royiswariii @Borgenland Just pinging you because you've contributed a lot to this article too. Need help with 203.177.220.206, who has been persistently changing the language from Tagalog to Filipino in every Bini song article that they can even when I've repeatedly asked them to stop doing that. We've established that Tagalog and Filipino are interchangeable terms, but I changed it all to Tagalog (with your permission) for consistency. Because the media favors using Tagalog more than Filipino in describing the songs' language (though a lot of articles, again, use them interchangeably). I'm just at my wit's end because I'm preparing "Lagi" for a GAN review but this person will not stop no matter how many times I've warned them. Bloomagiliw (talk) 10:37, 22 October 2025 (UTC)
- Oh, I just saw that you undid the vandalism on the other pages, Borgenland. Thank you so much. Just hoping this person can be stopped. Tried reporting the IP address but didn't get a response, I guess. Hoping something will be done about this incredibly persistent IP vandal. Bloomagiliw (talk) 10:44, 22 October 2025 (UTC)
- Also, please be careful on what you said on history: "but we are using Tagalog on all articles for CONSISTENCY!!!!!!!". Other editors and sysop think you are WP:SHOUTING, may also apply here as WP:UNCIVIL. ROY is WAR Talk! 11:16, 22 October 2025 (UTC)
- Sorry. I've been civil and polite with them before but they've been nonstop vandalizing it. They even talked to me on my talk page and I explained it all really clearly. They still won't stop. They do it for so many pages, so undoing all of the vandalism edits just tires me out so much. Bloomagiliw (talk) 11:25, 22 October 2025 (UTC)
- Have you tried DRN or ANI? Borgenland (talk) 14:06, 22 October 2025 (UTC)
