Oravská Jasenica (Hungarian: Jaszenica) is a village and municipality in Námestovo District in the Žilina Region of northern Slovakia.
History
The village was founded in the 1680s. The first written mention of the place under the name Jasenica is dated by 1588. There are later further records under various spellings. The current name Oravská Jasenica was documented in 1949.[4][5]
Geography
The municipality lies at an altitude of 624 metres (2,047 ft)[3] and covers an area of 23.68 km2 (9.14 sq mi) (2024).[6]
